Yes you can run as two DC's, highly recommended. You will need to use the adprep32 utility on the 2008R2 cd to upgrade your ad first before you promote the 2008 R2 machine as a DC. You basically run: adprep32 /forestprep adprep32 /domainprep adprep32 /domainprep /gprep adprep32 /rodcprep You will also want to run DNS on both as previosuly said, you could also run DHCP on both for extra resillience by splitting the IP range between the 2 servers, but that can be a bit of a pita.

My car got rear ended last week at a roundabout, it looks like it may well be a write off as it's 11 years old now. Thankfully no one was injured, just all a bit shaken up. The other driver claimed full responsibility and their insurance company has taken my car away and given me a courtesy car. It's annoying though as I have a new car on order but it won't be here till April, wonder if I can keep the courtesy car till then ;-)

Well, this thread kicked my backside into gear and I've got my lardy, lazy body to the gym :-) Been going a couple of weeks now, hard work and feel knackered afterwards, but feel so much happier, alert and awake. Gradually losing weight, about 5lbs so far, but a long long way to go on that front...

Meh, that's only just about getting ripe, once that middle bit is nicely aged it'll be ready to eat. Love blue cheese, but my favourite cheese at the moment is cave aged gruyere, especially if I can find the really good stuff with salt crystals in it.
