  1. You can install it 2008 and above, I have NTFSfix installed on Server 2012 and it works fine, I've been using this for ages without issue.
  2. Use NTFS fix tool, it's brilliant for things like that, you can either ADD bulk permissions or REPLACE all permissions on single folders or top level. http://www.wisesoft.co.uk/software/ntfsfix/default.aspx
  3. Simple. SCCM 2012, deploys images, and deploys software via, script, exe and msi.
  4. You can't capture and sysprep a computer while the workstation is a member of a domain. It won't allow it. It will throw an error message.
  5. The reason is because you are trying to sysprep while you are a member of your domain, you need to remove your computer from the domain and add it to a workgroup and then it will work. Hope this helps.
  6. Is there a way to keep direct edit constantly switched on ?
  7. No worries, happy to help.
  8. You can use a powershell script like this. Get-WMIObject Win32_Printer | where{$_.Network -eq ‘true’} | foreach{$_.delete()} that will delete any printer.
  9. Thanks for all the replies and help. I have finally got to the bottom of it all. The student watched the staff member put the username in and then used Kali Linux password creator to fish through random passwords. So in theory he didn't hack he just used a generator. So all is good . Thanks for all your help. The staff member is question has been talked to.
  10. HTTPS across the board internal and external, setup page can only be access via domain admin privilege. everything is secure. I think he maybe bigging himself up when in fact he shoulder surfed or stole a document from a new staff member.
  11. Unlikely, Our passwords are alphanumeric more than 8 characters long and contain a symbol..
  12. They say they got a staff account, how would they have publicised the page for the staff member to log in ?
  13. How would they have uploaded that though to the system ?
  14. I'm hoping someone on here can help, a malicious student has 'Hacked' Home Access Plus or so they say.... they say they have managed to get a password for an account on the network from HAP+... After doing a bit of research they have used Kali Linux ?, Is it even possible to retrieve a password from the server. It's not a domain controller and the server doesn't store passwords. Everything is locked down with NTFS permissions and students cannot log onto the account through RDP. Is it even possible to gain access to control the server from HAP+ ? Any information would be helpful. Thanks,
  15. Have you also restricted C:\ for students in group policy ?
  16. Download the ADM / ADMX files for chrome and block UNC capability through GPO.
  17. You'll be better using ultra vnc, its free and easy to use. You can also deploy it via a free program called Skeepvnc. Take a look, it's so much better than TightVNC.
  18. it doesn't seem to work, I add the user group I don't want to have access to HAP and I get error messages for every user.
  19. Hi, All. I work at an Academy and we use HAP+, which is awesome. NB Developments, you've exceeded my expectations. Is there a way you can restrict users logging into HAP+ ? We have accounts in AD which don't need access. Thank, DavetheITguy.
  20. You can go to the enterprise pack and have the remote management.
  21. it will be because the boot image hasn't got the drivers for the tablet or cannot boot onto the network correctly via usb to rj45. We had the same issue with the Linx tablets. We ended up building them using Clonzilla. If you are using Windows 8 you can perform an export of drivers using powershell.
  22. When a profile is used on a computer it saves information back to that profile, are you sure it's not an underlying problem with a computer writing data back to the profile causing the issue. Would it not be better to use Mandatory profiles and set all permissions etc via GPO, redirection.... Also, are you sure it's not the user causing the issue ?
  23. when you re-create a users profile, are you deleting it completely from the computer. Go into regedit > find (F3) > type "profilelist" - no spaces. In there look for the profile name and delete the folder. In C:\ delete the profile folder from there and delete from the recycling bin. The roaming profile itself, how has this been configured ? Have you checked that the roaming profile doesn't contain settings for chrome in the app data folder ?
  24. VB for us, maps by recognising the first 3 characters of the computer name and then maps to the right printer via a CSV file.
  25. Is this installed on a hyper v machine ?
