Disable the VLAN routing between those VLANS and set the DHCP helper for the phone VLAN to the new ISP router, that way the phones will get their DHCP leases from the new ISP router provided while the other VLAN will still get their DHCP leases from the other router. What vendor are you using for equipment?

You'll want to restrict access to C: using group policy. User Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ Windows Components \ Windows Explorer. double click on Prevent access to drives from My Computer. Hope this helps

I have VLANs so i don't really use exclusions. If it was a flat network like your, you maybe better using exclusions.

I've got my connected to a QNAP via ISCSI, also set with off-site backup and archiving to Tape.

I use Veeam on a physical server not a vm and use off and on host proxies to split the load. I let veeam decide which is best. I would have thought a vm is restricted in terms of resources etc.

Have you moved everything into the repository correctly? Are you using an on-host or off-host backup proxy?

Are all the other ports on that same VLAN?

Hi, All. Having a few issues. I am looking to roll out Windows 10 at the Academy I work in. We use redirected desktops and start menus. These work fine but the all apps menu is driving me insane. There are apps that I cannot remove for example, Settings, Contact Support etc. These are not needed in an educational environment. Has anyone figured out how to successfully deploy redirected start menus and desktops in Windows 10 and remove stupid apps? I've tried the powershell commands but these only remove surplus apps. Any help would be nice. Ta.

I'm guessing both Academies will be part of JANET? You could setup VPNs between sites and have Domain Trust Relationship setup?

We use veeam - ISCSI QNAP and a monthly Tape Archive.

Make sure users can change their own password in AD. If you've denied that it won't work.

I have email alerts setup for it. it monitors switches, servers, internet, everything it can get a ping from. doesn't need a client installing on any device. i have a vm setup with it installed on. everything is managed via a browser. I've linked mine to AD. Overall its brilliant.

It sounds like a driver issue. How was the original image made? Was it on a VM?

We use AD connect. The new version of it doesn't require ADFS for SSO. You can set this up within the AD Connect program.

This is what I had in the pac for students on their VLAN. function FindProxyForURL(url,host){ return "PROXY 172.20.20.251:8083"; } save that in notepad named wpad.dat. It needs to be placed somewhere that has read access for everyone. I used IIS on one of my DCs. Then just you need to access DHCP, scope you want the WPAD accessed on, scope options and then use rule 252 WPAD. You'll also need to create a dns record called WPAD linking to the IP address of the server you have placed it on. Hope this helps.

You could just create a WPAD and use DHCP to issue it out.
