Tech should be an accessory to life, not a part of it. The world can go on being more wrapped in tech, but I will not be, and nor will my children, at least when at home. Im not sure what there is to learn, school will teach the basics, I will teach them more, but if when they turn 16 they want to create social accounts and what not, then its fine. I will have explained to them the dangers long before that age.

There will be a computer in the corner of the living room, they can use that for half an hour a day. Its not just about security, it breaks my heart when I see children of 1 staring into an iPad. I really do hate it. Kids should be outdoors.

My children will not be using personal tech until they are at least 16. They can cry as much as they want, not happening.

There is a 4k test channel, you need a 4k sat receiver and TV to view it, obviously.

Anyone else have problems? BT only admitted there was a problem at 10am this morning. It seems to have improved a lot by this eventing, but there are still issues.

Its a nightmare, there needs to be some sort of online passport system. At least for large corporations, or a standard set.

Its very useful if you suspect someone of doing something wrong. And I think most polices would cover it, I have never seen a policy that did not. The IT dept should be trusted to see anything, otherwise they cannot do their job.

It says you must "prove" you are good, how do you do that? From what I can see, you pay £45, get your manger to confirm, and then you get approved for it. I suppose its a nice logo to put on the email signature.

I tend to agree that qualifications are not needed. You are either good at the job or not, if your good at the job you will learn on the go, work things out, and find out the information you need, as you need it. That only exception is jobs which could endanger other people. Obviously you cannot be trying to guess then. At the same time qualifications are good for showing others the skills you have, or apparently have, with qualifications. You can't have one without the other, unless its for some corporate company. All they care about is show. No qualifcation can make you good. In other jobs, they are important, if you look at doctors, they have books etc around them, they need to do qualifications to show they are suitable and have a sound understanding, but they don't remember everything or know everything. They need the skills to make judgements and decisions, without that they would be bad doctors, no matter how many qualifications they have. Its the same in any job. My GCSE's are not worth the paper they are written on, I don't think I remember or have ever used a single thing learnt from my GCSE school years, even the IT GCSE was nothing to do with practical IT. As soon as I hear "I have a degree in such and such", I know they are going to be crap if they are new. As we all were at one stage. What annoys me is when they start trying to act superior and not listening to what is being told to them. Even if they are new, they start talking a load of rubbish about what they can do, not much I'm afraid in the real world. That being said, I would not mind having a degree under my belt. Maybe one day.

I expected a poor old man on the high street surrounded by Muslims, not speakers corner. People often do things like this, Youtube is full of it. Christian and Muslim have endless debates. Although i agree had it been the other way around it would have been more attention paid to it. That is the PC world we live in, ironic.

I am slowly withdrawing for electronic communcations. Only down to the bone, banking, bills.
