I know it's not the most efficient way, but I currently manually activate the new accounts and at that point also change the UPN from the onmicrosoft.com domain to the school email domain. Doing them in bulk makes this less time consuming, however means I haven't had to alter anything in AD.

Yes you can, I've activated it against our KMS on a Windows XP Home machine. You manually run the activation process, specifying the KMS server address and the machine will then activate Office against it as you would expect. Basically follow this, altering the bits as you need: UCLA Knowledge Base : How do I manually specify a KMS server to activate MS Office 2010 Keep in mind, if you activate using the KMS it will fall under the normal KMS activation of every 90 days or whatever it is.

In the webapp I very rarely sort emails, if it's from somebody and I want to view their emails I just use From:(Persons name or domain) and get the list that way, don't know if that helps?

Concurrent means you can purchase 1 licence, install it on multiple machines but you may only use it on 1 machine at a time. Non-concurrent means you can purchase 1 licence and install it on 1 machine at any one time.

Ours is virtualized and has been for over a year now with no noticeable issues, but we are a small site in general terms. I have had to rerun the database reindex patch on a couple of occasions so might be worth investigating that if you are having performance problems.

We've had the same problem up in Cumbria last week, I tested a video in my office, walked down to the hall and the video wouldn't play. Other video's from Youtube would play however. Not tested this week though.

Not a virtualisation expert by any means, however when I needed to increase the C Drive of one of our 2003 VM's I just ran it through VMware Converter again, so if you want to try and clone the VM, you could try going through a P2V type process again within the VM? The other thing is, have you tried something as simple a chkdsk on it? (Again, don't know the effect it would have so perhaps wait for more opinions)

Hah! I'd had this reported to me but didn't have time to look at it properly. The solution I ended up with was use Google Chrome.

Choosing the report type to text and then csv gives me the result I'm after apart from the date format, but doesn't open excel so can't see how to get around that bit.

Probably a stupid question, I've got a few reports recently created which export dates or dates of birth striaght into CSV format. All works well apart from the date is in the wrong format, I need to get it into the 22/10/2013 format instead of the standard 22 November 2013 format. Anybody know anyway of forcing a csv export to change the date format from SIMS or is it just not possible? Thanks

Thanks @jamesbmarshall, just what I was hoping for the 1st part. Thats what we are hoping to do too @funkyfin2000, although minus the RM Unify bit and just go with Cloud ID's. I'm not ready to launch sharepoint with staff, I'm still very much learning about it and so the governors are almost certainly going to be the test bed for it. Maybe I'll just stick a big notice on it that changes must be emailed to an email address for inclusion on the school network also and get around it that way. Tell me if I'm on the wrong foot here, your running the powershell command from E:\Home Drives\mbedford but your path in the command is F:\Home Drives\mbedford - shouldn't it be E:\ ?

We use Name and Approve in WDS and it sorts it all out after it has been built once using it - works perfectly for what we need.

After launching Office 365 in the Summer and gradually spending time with a few people showing them the advantages of a Global Address Book, Calendar, Task List, things are really starting to take off. So much so that now I've been asked to try and setup a calendar and tasks list for governors. At the same time I mentioned possibly using the Sharepoint aspect of it for Document Libraries, calendars and task lists and the idea of that went down a storm. Now I'm left with working out how best to achieve it. 2 questions are floating around in my head that I could do with the answer to: 1. Am I ok to licence Governors on Office 365? 2. Is there anyway to synchronise a folder from our Staff Shared drive to a folder on Office 365? - This would probably be the policies folder which I would like to synchronise, however I'm not ready to launch the Sharepoint aspect to staff yet. Thanks for any help / advice!

I hope that a way of disabling it globally comes soon too, does my head in!

Might be worth trying HP LaserJet Maintenance Kit, HP LaserJet Fuser. Printer Repair. - have called them a couple of times for help and advice on printer problems / repairs and they've always been spot on.

I'm still confused because I keep reading things different ways. We licence the Education Desktop which gives us Office ProPlus 2013, but it doesn't specifically mention that, it mentions all 3 Office 365 versions and then just Office ProPlus. Therefore, I'm unsure as to whether we qualify or not. It's a shame if we don't as I was quite excited about it when I first read it.

Sorry, reset winsock then (was in a rush to get to the pub).

I think I had this occur on 2 PC's after installing SSD drives. The fix (which I found on here but can't remember where now) was in Safemode was to run the following command to reset the TCP/IP stack: netsh winsock reset Reboot and the machine booted up correctly straight away. Only happend after installing the SSD drives and happened no matter how many times I reran the deployment. (and only on 2 machines out of 60 so far)

We've had issues with reports recently too, more noticeable since the Summer upgrade. Two things I'd suggest, 1 try editing the report and saving again, sometimes has made a difference to use for whatever reason, whether it just refreshes some details. 2. Capita sent us the reindexing patch through to run again which has helped again generally, so might be worth getting hold of that too.
