Windows Linx Tablet - Viable alternative to netbook?
Cache replied to penfold's topic in General Chat
Thanks for the update guys, presents a potentially very viable option for us now then! -
Hi all Just wondering if anyone else with a Nexus 4 which updated to Lollipop via OTA is having issues with wifi? At home it works fine, at work it seems to refuse to connect with an exclamation mark next to it. If I forget the wireless network and reconnect then it works fine for the rest of the day. Come back in the next day and the same issue. I'm not 100% sure if it's to do with the different types of AP's which we have around school and it just refusing to connect, but it seems once it refuses to connect it won't connect to any until it's forgotten. Anyone have a solution other then forgetting it and reconnecting?

Yeah shouldn't be a problem, as it's similar to what we did. I didn't bother exporting the database however and instead just recreated the jobs on a new install as I got the server up and running - we didn't have the job history as a result and created a new backup chain, but it wasn't a major headache to recreate as I did a few other changes at the same time.

[Office 365] OneDrive for Business - Provisioning failed?
Cache replied to Cache's topic in Cloud Services
Got this update to my Service Request last night and just checked this morning and it's in the portal too: Current Status: Engineers are investigating an issue in which some customers are seeing an erroneous message on their Service Health Dashboard under OneDrive for Business. There is no impact to OneDrive for Business at this time. Customer Impact: Affected customers are seeing an erroneous message on their Service Health Dashboard under OneDrive for Business that says, "Provisioning failed" and "To get help, contact support". There is no current impact to the service and this message is being displayed in error. Contacting support for this issue is not necessary. Next Update: Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at 1:00 AM UTC -
Curious if anyone else has this in their Office 365 portal? I've never really spotted OnDrive for business listed under the Current Health before, however at the moment all mine says is Provisioning Failed with no further details. Have logged a support request to see if I can get an answer.

What we do at the moment is everything is left internally as school.local and uploads using DIRsycn. Then when I activate the users in Office 365 I just adjust the upn up there to @school.county.sch.uk and in the last year have never had an issue apart from 1 user which I missed adjusting (touch wood)

Your error message is slightly different: Are both SIMS and Discover on the same release (Spring/Summer/Autumn) - last time we got that error was because SIMS was on the Summer release but Discover was still on Spring.

How do you mean? In terms of positioning the projector in the room? I tend to use Projector Point to get a pretty good idea: Projector Point -
encrypted email and file services by Sophos or Microsoft
Cache replied to error404's topic in Windows Server 2008 R2
Sophos Safeguard which was demonstrated at the ANME meeting last week looked brilliant and dead easy to use. The one thing I realised I forgot to ask was how it worked with email attachments, particularly through Webmail, but haven't had chance to follow up with it yet. Don't know whether it will cover what your after? Full Disk Encryption | Enterprise Encryption for Hard Drives, Removable Media, Bitlocker and Cloud Storage | Sophos -
[sims] Solus 3 Browsing for organisational units failed
Cache replied to caffrey's topic in MIS Systems
I don't get an error, however on our system before browsing AD I need to click on the Domain in the top right corner of solus 3 and pick our domain, enter domain admin credentials and then I can go and browse and search AD without issue. If I close Solus3, I need to carry out the same process of choosing the domain before browing again. The consequence of not doing this for me is 1. Solus 3 won't find any computers in any OUs. 2. I end up with duplicate targets of every device already configured in Solus3. Don't know whether that will help? -
Just a quick update - /silent seems to work quiet happily on the installer.

Haven't had a look at Makerbot recently, looking at the website it looks likes it's changed a lot. If I get chance I'll see if I can play with it.
-
Which one are you talking about, the actual Makerbot program or ReplicatorG? ReplicatorG we just installed onto a network drive, I've not looked at the Markerbot version.

Windows Linx Tablet - Viable alternative to netbook?

Not much help, but I'd be interested on any feedback from anyone with the £99 version of them as it's something I've been thinking about a lot recently... Not sure whether it would allow you to wipe and stick Windows Enterprise on it and tie it to a domain or whether it's best left as is. In a brief conversation with someone about them they believed that you could but they were not 100% sure. -
Just to echo the above, thanks again for organising the event and to the suppliers, was great to catch up with people and do some networking.

With regards to exchange properties with dirsync - if you extend your schema with exchange then you can edit the attributes and dirsync will update them quite happily in Office 365. With regards to making edits, I have a couple of Powershell scripts which I use but they need a lot of tidying up, otherwise rather then using ADSI Edit, I use the Attribute Editor to make changes which is slightly prettier I think.
-
You'll want to do something in powershell really, Office 365 page is here: Search For and Delete Messages from Users' Mailboxes and you'll want something like the code sample near the bottom.

Well spotted that man, useless website! Strange it still doesn't affect my account (yet)

Has anyone had any issues reported around attaching files, in particular Word documents, to OWA on Office 365? I've had 2 people come to me today to say that they've been unable to and I've watched it on one user where the attachment upload just constantly spins around, however I've not been able to reproduce it with my own account. Just wondered if you have had it, how did you fix it to try and save me a job? Thanks!

I would alter the hostname of your Smoothwall box to smoothwall.domain.co.uk - just be aware if you've any certificates generated by/for Smoothwall you'll need to regenerate them. You can alter the hostname in System -> Preferences -> Hostname

If the marksheet hasn't been deleted - when you go into the Marksheet Entry/My Marksheet Entry at the top is a date box - change that to a date last academic year (I tend to pick 1st July for convenience) and then click search and if they are still in the system, it will list them all for her.

when you get the error message localhost can't be found, where are you running it? It should work using localhost on the server, but won't on a client - I abandoned our install about a year a go so can't check any more, but on the server in the administration console will be an option to configure the server name I think....

Looking forward to it already!
