Big Systems upgrade planned for this year (help)
HMCTech replied to sacrej's topic in Windows Server 2008 R2
If you are upgrading the domain and forest level to 2008 R2 do some research on how it will effect exchange. We did this and it took two days to fix. -

I have created a virtual machine to use bridging for the network adaptor. But the host has several network adaptors, I need to specify which adator to bridge with on the host but can not seem to find out how to do this? I am using VMWare server.

Exchange 2003 > 2010 Transition / Co-existence
HMCTech replied to mb2k01's topic in Windows Server 2008 R2
Having a few issues, questions at the moment. We have 2007 all set up on one box and that is happy. I installed 2010 on a different box and I initially installed all the roles. I moved a users mailbox over to 2010 and they were able to connect to the new OWA but they were not able to send email. I removed the hub transport role from 2010, but now in the management for 2010 it says my organisation has no hub transport servers? Should 2010 be able to see 2007 hub transport server? -
I am using a content query web part in MOSS 2007 to display the title from a shared calendar. However it is going on a screen in the dining room and the font size is too small. Is there a way to increase the font size easily?

I managed to get it working with iPhones (not tried any others) without SSL

Thanks for being so precise. Have deleted old server, Domain still seems to be working and the non existant exchange server seems to have disappeared from management console hooray

2007 is our existing setup, the server I need to remove as an exchange server had 2010 installed
-
Yes we have the live server, and now another test server

Had an install on a free box of exchange 2010 to try out the client access role. Unfortunatly the server had to be reformatted in a hurry to fill a gap. Now the domain still see's that box as an exchange server. How can I remove it completley?

Thanks for the tips on programmes that would do it but would rather write one myself just for the fun.

I would like to get a simple programme that would have a list of all our switches and be able to select a switch fromt he drop down box and click a button which will open up a telnet session to that switch. I can get my head around how I would link the IP addresses to the list of switches using variables but I am not sure how I would call up the command prompt and get it to start the session automaticly. Any suggestions?

Has anyone had any success with doing this? I am trying to use the backup utility to backup to a network share but it always fails and tells me that volumes larger than 2TB cannot be protected and fails. Has anyone got over this?

That would be great because I dont know how to customize anything above the standard

URgent - Road conditions West Kent to Milton Keynes.
HMCTech replied to elsiegee40's topic in General Chat
constant snow in MK, settled in undisturbed areas to about 1cm. Roads around MK are okay now but getting worse, so if you need to get to MK go now if you can get out of your area but dont expect to get back easy until the morning. -
Exchange 2003 > 2010 Transition / Co-existence
HMCTech replied to mb2k01's topic in Windows Server 2008 R2
Could anyone post some links to helpfull sites that would help me with a 2007 > 2010 transition. I never installed the 2007 server, and have had limited experiance with exchange in the past. Everything I have found basicly just says Step. 1 configure client access . I dont know how to so any help would be appreciated on the whole move -
I have a test set up internally using the web access which has a few programmes installed as well as a dektop pool using three VM's on a hyper-v box. All works very well internally, but I am not able to get my head around using this externally. I can publish the web access site, but this of course points to internal names. Will I have to skip the web access site and just give an address of a gateway server to put into mstsc from home? Any advice or help is appreciated

Are you using SSL? If you not remember to configure an Iphone how it should be but the option to turn of SSL is only available once you have saved all the settings.

We purchased a samsung LCD screen a while back which had an inbuilt PC and MagicInfo software on. Does anyone know if these are still available or if they have increased in price at all?

Does anyone know a very good desktop printer that does excellent photo prints? Our PR manager wants to print the occasional high quality photo that has good colour. Our standard colour printers are not quite up to the job as they are more industrial with the colours.

We are installing a new helpdesk system but unfortunatly the emails it sends out automaticly go into everyones Junk Email folders. Now not all people will look in this folder and know how to add the address as a safe sender. Is there any way in exchange to specify this as not junk and go straight into inbox? They are all part of our domain the emails being sent.
