Hi, I have an iMac which is about 4-5 years old. Each time I put a CD in it, it automatically ejects the CD out straight away. I have tried different CD's and still the same issue. I realised this when I tried to update the OS with a CD. Any idea how to overcome this issue???? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I have a iMac which is about 4-5 years old. It has suddenly started to boot with a grey screen and nothing happens. I have checked online and it says to disconnect any devices other then the keyboard and mouse and see what happens. I have tried that and still the same issue. I have even disconnected the keyboard and mouse and still the same. Now when I start it, it makes a crackling noise which is coming from the back of the monitor. Any ideal what the problem is or how I can rectify it? Thank you in advance.

I am using MDT 2013 and Windows ADK 8.1. I can deploy and capture a windows 7 image but when it comes to either Windows 8 or 8.1 i get the message. I have looked at the following website but cannot figure out how to edit the unattend.xml file. MDT: Issues restoring image that contains Internet Explorer 10 | TecloTech IT Tips & Tricks. Hi, I have an issue deploying windows 8 and 8.1 with MDT. When I deploy either windows base image it comes up with the following message when the PC starts after the reimage: "Windows could not parse or process the unattend answer file for pass [specialize]. The settings specified in the answer file cannot be applied. The error was detected while processing settings for component [Microsoft-Windows-Shell setup]. Thanks in advance..

Hi, Is there anywhere I can download Junior Librarian 3 version 3.2.2.27? We have JL3 currently on Windows XP (standalone) PC and I am planning to move it to Windows 7 PC, but just realised I do not have to installation CD. I have checked the C Drive of the XP PC and there are a few exe files (setup, junior3, enquiry, circulate etc) I tried some of them but no luck. I know there is a new version called library.net but is there anywhere I can get the version I'm using???

Thank you for the help. Grey-gear - The board did work with Active Inspire. Its been a few weeks that its not been working. Next time I'm back at the school is after Easter break, I will take a picture and post it here. Thanks for the help much appreciated.

Hi I am having issues with proxy setting and network drive. When pupils login some of them are not getting the proxy settings and some of them are not getting pupil common drive. This does not affect all user. Proxy settings and mapped drives are pushed out using group policy. I have checked their profile in AD and they are a member of pupil group and are in the right OU. We are using server 2012 and windows 7 os. Any idea what I need to looking for or how I overcome this issue???? Thanks in advance

Hi, I have a old promethean board with the serial connection to the computer. The board is constantly flashing red top left corner of the board. When I unplug the board from either back of the board or PC it make a noise. I have tried uninstall and reinstall active inspire but no luck. I have also tried 2 other PC and the same issue. Any idea how I can resolve this issue? Or is the board too old and needs replacing.

I have checked group policy and the SEN folder has a blue exclamation mark on it which indicates that inheritance is blocked. Any idea why this has happened or how I over come this??? I have another folder redirection for other users and that works fine. For some reason the SEN folder redirection not working. Could it be that both redirection policy are clashing?????

I have the same issue. When you log in for the first time it takes ages. Group policy printer policy takes a long time as we have about 7 network printers to install. It would be interesting to find out how to speed boot up time.

In PowerPoint 2013 on Windows 7 - 64 bit, when File / Save as is selected, an error message comes up stating, "An error occurred while opening the file dialog. Please save your presentation, exit, and restart PowerPoint." This is an intermittent issue and also affects Excel 2013. I have tried repairing it, done windows update and also uninstalled and reinstalled but no luck. I have researched this issue but it relates to Office 2007 and 2010 and the resolution does not support 2013. Has anyone come across this issue? If so how did you resolve it? Many thanks….

Which error logs do I look at? I have check the folder permissions and they seem fine. I have tried running the rsop.msc logged on as the student and it doesn't show the folder redirection policy.

Hi Thanks for your reply. I am sure that the data is on the local PC. So all I need to do is install the JL software on the Win 7 PC and take the folders (data and backup folders) from the old XP PC and replace the one's created on Win 7 PC. If I wanted to take the network option what do I do? Thanks

The sharp is an old model and does and does not support airprint. Do you know any names to software that would make the ipad's visible? What is papercut? is it an app for the ipad?

Hi all, At school we use desktop and start menu redirection for both staff and pupil. This is working fine. I created a new redirection for one student who has visual impairment issues and need a different desktop. I have created a new policy but it doesn’t seem to work and the child does not get that desktop. I have created a new OU called SEN, I have created a Group call SEN, this child is a member of SEN group and is in the SEN OU. I have created a folder called Desktop and Start Menu in the Shared Icons folder. I have created a desktop and start menu policy which is pushed out via group policy.
