  1. I have tried that. it doesn't have any unifi details. its easily been nearly 2 years since I've configured the ap's and left them.
  2. Is that username: ubnt and password: ubnt? I have tried that but no luck. - - - Updated - - - I have tried it on IE and Chrome.
  3. I have set it up on my current laptop. The version I originally installed didn't work so I installed version 5.9.29. when I try to Launch a Browser to manage the network nothing happens. Gives me the message this site is not secure, when I click on More Information and select Go on the website (not recommended) nothing happens. I have installed version 5.6.40 on the server and that allows me to go to the controller user interface by clicking on Launch a Browser to manage the network but the problem is I cant remember the username and password.
  4. Hi All, I have setup Ubiquiti Unifi AP's a few years ago. I cannot remember the username and password I used for the controller software. Is there anyway I can retrieve the username and password or create a new username and password. I only have 3 unifi AP's and using windows server 2012. Any help will be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  5. Do I modify the current Printer Policy so the Action is DELETE, so this policy will delete all old printers. Then create new Printer Policies to deploy new printers.
  6. Hi All, I am looking for some advice. We currently have printers deployed through GP. These printer are due to be replaced with new printers. Which would be the best way to deploy the new printers? I was thinking about using the same IP addresses and the same group policy and just change the shared printer path in GP. I will keep the Action as Update, which it currently is. Am I currently heading towards the right direction? Or do I need to assign new IP’s to the printers and create new policies to deploy the new printers. With the old printers change the policy for Action to Delete so the old printers are deleted then after a while remove the policy for the OU. Thanks in advance.
  7. Hi All, I have an issue opening some pdf files. It comes up with an error message: Adobe Reader could not open because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). This is a pdf file downloaded from the TES website. I am able to open it fine on another laptop without any problems. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software. I have tried repairing the software but still no luck. I am using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC version 2018.009.20050. OS is windows 8.1 pro. Any help or suggestions towards the right direction will be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  8. I'm giving the green ones another go at recovery see if that works. Also I've noticed that its picking up files from 2004 and 2005 which is quite strange because we bought this laptop about 3-4 years ago brand new!!!
  9. I have tried the green ones and they don't open. I have reimaged the laptop with a new image.
  10. Hi Steve, Thanks for that. I have tried the software by scanning the C drive. It has picked up thousands of files. Majority of the files are coming up with a red circle and the status is unrecoverable. I have selected all the files regardless of status and recovered them. When it comes to opening the files they come up with various messages that I cannot open them. Please see photos below. I have also tried the files with the status as Excellent and they don’t open as well. It has also picked up files with the # and $ sign in front of the file names. Does that mean anything?? Is there any thing else I can do to recover these files??
  11. Hi All, Not sure if I have posted this in the right forum. I have reimaged a laptop only to realise after, that the teacher has forgotten to back up a folder that was on her desktop. Is there any way that I can retrieve this folder? Any help in the right direction will be most appreciated. Thanks
  12. I thing she might be local admin. Would that allow her to access other peoples files?
  13. Hi All, I have a user that is able to access another users files. When she does a search in her desktops C drive, the result from the search is picking up other users files. This is only happening on this desktop. I have tried searching the same thing on my laptop but nothing comes up. Any reason why this is happening??? The user files that she is picking up, I have check folder security and it seems fine. I have removed folder inheritance for now, this didn’t work. We are in a domain environment, both users are using windows 8.1. Any help will be most appreciated.
  14. I've had a quote for them. Are they any good? how is the picture quality and focus? our main purpose of them will be in guided reading. They want to put the story book under the visualiser so that the pupils in class can read together. it will be connected to the laptop on to the IWB.
  15. Wow your school must have money. They cost £800+, way out our budget. thanks anyway.
  16. I am looking to purchase either the AverVision U50 or AverVision U70, most likely the U50 as this is within our budget. Has anyone come across these or used them before? Any feedback will be much appreciated.
  17. I have used Airserver few years ago at a different school. With Airserver can you lock it down? for example I don't want class 4s teacher accidently connecting to class 4j laptop.
  18. Are they any good? We have TTS easi-view visualisers older versions that are rubbish. Do they have any functionalities?
  19. Hi all, I am looking for some advice and recommendation on visualizers. Currently we use TTs visualizers that are about 10 years old, which are useless. The only function they have is focus and light. We do not have a massive budget. We want to use the visualizers to display work and text books on the IWB. The visualizers need to be compatible with windows 7 to windows 10. They need to have the function of focusing, zooming in and out etc. Any help will be most appreciated. Thank you in advance
  20. Hi All, I’m not sure if I’ve posted this in the right forum. I amlooking for an Asset Management System to use in school to record hardware, software, furniture and etc. I currently use MS Excel to record hardware andsoftware in school. Can anyone advise me on any free asset management systemthat they use or they know of or guide me towards the right directions. Thanks in advance..
  21. Yes this is the admin server and a physical one. I think when they purchased this, it was a low spec. I will stop the print spooler before I delete the \spool\printer. At least this will free up some space. I did read up on the RAID online about swapping the drives to rebuild. In the past I have replaced faulty drives with new drives but they were the same size as the faulty drive. It did successfully build the drive. But now I am looking to put in bigger drives and not sure if it will work.
  22. Hi Rom1984, I have tried Windows Disk Cleanup and it doesn't give me the option to tick the Temp folder. All it does is gives me the option of selecting either C drive or E drive. The MIS is installed on this drive. I also have a E drive that is 500gb. So regards to the networkwizardinstalle.log, I need to stop the print spooler first then delete networkwizardinstaller.log. Then clear out system32\spool\printer. I already have treesize installed.
  23. Hi All, I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 running out of C drivespace. I have uninstalled all unnecessary software. I have just over 5gbavailable out of 136gb. I have noticed that the Windows Temp folder is 17.8gbin size. Could I delete everything in this folder without affect the server? I havenoticed that there is a file in the Temp folder calledNetworkWizardInstaller.log, size is 13.7gb. The server is nearly 6 years old, I was thinking aboutincreasing the size of the C drive. The C drive is built using RAID 1. What isthe easiest and less disruptive way to increase the size of the C drive withoutlosing data? I’m not sure if this is right but I was thinking about buying 2hard drives (300 or 500gb) and swapping them out 1 by 1. Any help of advice towards the right direction will begreatly appreciated. Thanks
  24. I just changed the input setting (e.g. Computer 1) and it started to work.
  25. Hi all, I have 1 desktop computer running windows 8.1 with issueswhen trying to print to network printers. There is a delay when they click onPrint then there is another delay when they actually print the document. The delayis around 1 minute long each way. The printing was fine before the service deskinstalled 1 of the network printers while I was absent. I have checked thesettings and they seem fine. I have also stopped and started the print spoolerbut no luck. I have logged on myself and the printer works fine from thedesktop. It seems like a profile related issue. No other users are having thisissue. Is there anything I can do to resolve the printing issue? I wasthinking about renaming her account to .old, then when she logs on again thesystem will create her another profile. This wouldn’t cause any issues wouldit? Any help in the right direction would be most appreciated. Thank you in advance.
