1. If the card readers stop working, it's cos the network connection has dropped. It doesn't restart the card reader app in the background when the network comes back.
2. I tend to find it just works. No real problems at all, beyond student interference with the revals.
3. Yes, great match!
4. We use the enterprise (onsite) version of LeavePlanner.com for both sickness and annual leave. leave.southcraven.org
5. Ah, I won’t keep trying to guess the port settings then!
6. Edugeek itself went skewiff around 12.45 for us. Other sites were ok.
7. (Cross post; our internet dropped for a few seconds)
8. From the manual: PoE Button Pressing the PoE button on the ECS2100-10P, ECS2100-10PE, ECS2100-28P, and ECS2100-28PP front panel changes the port LEDs to display PoE status. For more information, see “Understanding the System Status LEDs” on page 47.
9. Starting at the basics.. Have you hit the button on the switch which changes port LEDs from Activity to Speed to POE Status to.... (I don't know edgecore, but HP have this)
10. Nice! I don't drink beer/lager/etc - but it's open source so folk like Coca Cola can do the same.
11. Does anyone know what port Paxton runs on, for the Inventry integration? Peter
12. Can you expose SIMS "Individual Reports" via EdulinkOne?
13. If this is one user on a machine, just set a separate batch file with the last line in, as a scheduled task. If it’s multiple users on pc/network you need to log your src/dest to a file, probably .csv, and schedule to read the csv and process one by one. Power shell will be easier.
14. As long as you have one client that's not Win10 Edu, then whenever you ring up for support, just use that one. They'll not know any different.
15. Put attached in a Category. (Copied from what my technician did based on previous advice) VimeoMathswatch.txt
16. Have a look in Event Viewer. The most recent "Time Service" entry should say "...now receiving valid data from .... " I have this script which I run if I find a PC/server not behaving:
17. Mine is approximately four times that per annum - IT hardware, software, tablets and licensing - so £35,000 becomes more in perspective.
18. Don't know about the new Cunninghams. The old one stored prices to £0.25000000001p which supported my feelings about the dev team.
19. Nice rhyme, but if you've got another £40,000 for me to spend then I'll gladly have it. We have sufficient DR in place to run the estate live elsewhere in school, so system failure of that nature isn't a concern.
20. We just tendered for 3 hosts, FC SAN, SAN switches and replacement core switches. Quotes were £35,000 to £90,000 all in. The £35,000 was a Dell VRTX that met all the specs of 3 hosts, SAN and Switching, plus separate core switches.
21. We had to use one on some official cheque-printing list; no idea whose list it was / from where. We stopped printing cheques a few years ago though so don't touch it now.
22. Your ATF pulls PreAdmissions in, which you then withdraw/admit accordingly. CTFs add additional data, but the ATF has enough for what ParentPay needs.
23. Ok, so I made a SIMS report to give the following fields, but with Email address instead of Street. (Read on to find out why.) Then change the header to: Then use edit/replace to add a line PREREG to each student. Then use edit/replace to change all 7 to 6 Then use edit/replace to change all 7 to 6 (This might be specific to my school; it allows me to group PreAdmissions in Paxton for printing their ID cards) Then replace with so that their email address appears in ParentPay in their "Street" field - it gets corrected when MIS:Sync runs properly in September, but for now provides a means of storing email address in the PreAdmission table in ParentPay. Now upload the XML file manually via MIS:Sync (not automatically) and you'll have the necessary data in ParentPay for mail-merging out from. Peter
24. If you’re up to messing with MIS:Sync, you can get emails uploaded, but I still didn’t find (I don’t think) a way if emailing. I’ll post the XML format tomorrow.
