nope none of our sysman user are trusted. I did think terminal server, its just another username and password for them to remember. but ill have a look into it, simple to setup i know so ill have a go. thanks

Hi Guys At the momment we have 2 networks, all the staff are on 1 and the students on another. We are going to be moving teaching staff off the staff network to the students network. The staff network will still have about 20 users. The staff network also has sims on the domain. The 20 users left still need to access Sims for the finance sims packages as well. Is there away of 1st getting the staff users on the students network to access sims with the sims server still on the staff network. SLT want them still to use the sims client 2nd can the staff on the student network still some how use the AD auth that you can setup in sims system manager, or are all staff on student network going to need usernames and passwords. Let me know you ideas please Mark

We us the dlink kit, in fact we did the case study for them on it. I like it a lot. Very stable and has excellent management features. We have ours running over 2 vlans setup on the switch. Only problem really is when we get a class full of laptops trying to login at once, but if you plan your access point placements should be ok. After we moved some points to the more heavy usedd areas i was fine. On the setup I got some excellent help from dlink tech support. I have a contact a dlink if you need to speak with someone there. hi when we reboot our ubuntu server we have to manually run the following to start the web service. sudo /opt/lampp/lampp start followed by the password. Can someone tell me how to get this to start the service with the password to run the service as ubuntu boots up like you can with a windows service. Thanks Mark

ill join you in that, 7 rack in 2 years, due to either DB files not deleting propley, firmware updates breaking big time. In fact it has got out of hand now, monday a securus engineer is coming to the school to swap out our sixth box for our 7th as the lcd screen is not displaying anything, and that was suppost to be a new box, fail! when it works it is really good bit of software but there hardware for there rack mount is so unstable with the software that runs on it.

Good Morning all, I am going to be buying 3 new servers with dual quard core processors and 16GB. These servers will be on a SAS san 1.2TB. I was woundering how many vm's can i put on each host? One VM will be a sim server as well. Can any one give me some guide lines please.

we have the network version running from a network share, Students have issues exporting the mixes to wav and mp3. It runs over CC3 and along with movie maker one or the other keeps breaking. But more ejay problems really and its just the exporting thats keeps failing. MP3 exporting dont work, and wav doesnt export the file as as wav but somthing else then you have to put the .wav extension on the end of it to get it to work. sodding pain for students amnd us for showing them how to rename the file when it works mark

hi i am setting up my pc with apple tv at momment. Can I do this setup? I would like 2 libraries on one pc but there are differnet storage devices. I know you can select the library by holding shift when lauching itunes. Can I get the apple tv to work with either library depending on what library i select when lauching itunes., I am going to put the apple tv on streaming mode. thanks mark
