Hello can any help me with setting up a network handing in point for students. Basically i want students to be able to save docs on a network share but not able to edit or copy anyone else folders. I want students to be able to create there own root folder then save there work in there and not able to edit any other folders or access the contains. thanks mark

Hi, Happy new year to you all I have a quick excel question, i have a sheet that has name,reg group, attendance1,attendance2 colums. problem i have is that when i sort it one of the attendance colums doesnt sort right it doesnt order the colum highest to lowest, i need it to order attendance 1 and 2 highest to lowest while keeping the names and reg group matched to the attendnace data Thanks Mark

sorted it, it was a missing reg files that are used to control the vss, restore the missing reg and rebooted and everything is working fine now

hi guys have all sorts of issues with one of my dc's today, these services wont start even after a reboot dfs replication com+ event system com+ system application SENS there no clues in the event viewer services wont start regardless and they all depend on each other. I would just demot the server but dcpromo wont work becuase dfs isnt running becuase the other services wont run. no new software has gone on the server either, not sure what to do now, is it possible to create a new server with same name and then switch off old and rejoin new server to domain?

So if you use vsphere, do you just backup the contents of the vm's how would you go about doing a restore? Also what type of back schedule do you use, I am getting my self a little confused with the terminology what's a full back every day? Are the recovery points just snap shots of that point in time not full backups

are you guys using dpm in an hpyer v Environment? I am in an vsphere Environment, not i know i cant use dpm to snap shot the vsphere server at hyper visor level but i would like to install the agent on them and backup everything inside, but i am a little unsure about the restore process, lets say one of my servers is buggered and my only option is to resotre from backup. how would i do this in a vsphere Environment, create a new server then restore on to that?

hi, has anyone done much with kpi lists, I have a excel work book which has lists of year group tutor groups then it is sorted by attendance percentage. I would like to centrally put it on sharepoint using kpi so at a glance year leaders / staff can see who has the worst attendance, I was going to use the traffic light indicators, but i only can work out how to do any entire sheet not row by row. so each row has student name then target attendance then actual attendance, so if the actual attendance fall below 90% then it flags up as red.

I recommend the Hitachi sans we have two SMS looking at the ams as well
