We just use the built in categorys, on the web access rule it just says these categorys are banned, updates come from the update bit of tmg. We justed added it to our school agreement. We use tmg for basic filtering for our guest wireless, does the job. Simple to setup and we make use of the scanning on downloads as well

Oh right I see. So all the server ports are set to untagged and anything other devices are set to untagged but to get the other switches and the devices connected to thoses other switches to talk to the servers the uplink ports must be set to tagged.

Hi I have at the momment our network on one vlan. I want to break this up 200 servers 201 staff wireless 202 student wireless etc... How do I setup the 200 vlan for the servers do all the servers ports need to be tagged for the other vlans to talk to them. And then the uplinks from the other switches to be tagged with vlan 200 so the machine can talk to the servers. I have hp and mostly netgear switches.

hi when doing the upgrade from 2007 to 2010 can you get the new exchange 2010 system running along side 2007 still live, then move owa over to 2010. Will users be able to access the new owa while there mailboxes remain on the 2007 in till i get a chance to move the mail boxes over or iis it a case when owa is moved over you then have to moved the mail boxes and other services before any can access and send mail again.

Hi guys does any run there terminal server as a virtual machine. If so what the spec of the vm and how many users do you have connected to it and are you running 2008 or 2003?

How much does each vm have ram wise? Also what are the vm running on the 2008 boxes?

Our San switches our on the same rang as our sans which is different to our main network. We have the 100's. Each controller with an ip on the same range as the switches then got iscsi targets on separte nics to our esx host then just add them to our vms

Going to be used to archive data off mainly. If it could run basic virtual machines that would be nice. Not really going to hammer it as such. Also a couple of vmdks that don't get hammered.

Why use the vmxnet nics for the virtual servers

That sounds interesting. We have a bat file that copyies the start menu from a server share to the local drive. I would like to get them more targeted to ou location/room so they only get shortcuts that are from programs in that room

Do you find any slow down when everyone is using the start menus across the network?

Hi how do people redirect there start menus. Do you have a server share with them on? Or do you have a startup script that copies them to the local drive? Or a different way. Do you have a global one or one per room/ou?

its vmware esx 3.5, i was just thinking i have a rather large file server so i thought if i added another nic it would help things along a bit better
