Hello guys I need to move sims from 32bit install to a 64bit while also doing a SQL upgrade to 2008 (not r2). Is it better to do the sql 2008 upgrade on the 32 bit server first then move sims to it's new server 2008 64bit or do everything on the 64bit box? Also can anyone advise me on the steps I need to take in order to move sims to it's new home without breaking anything please Thanks Mark

We are running 32 vm over 4 host plus got a fifth host coming in September. Servers are doing all sorts SQL, exchange etc..... There isn't a really speed issue as such I was just seeing if I had it all setup alright and I was making use of what we have and seeing about up grades. Maybe it's limiting it from the sans. They have 2 controllers with 2 ports on each. May be I should get another 4 port card to expand iscsi traffic to the host as there only 2 nics one for each San switch.

Cheers guys. We have 3 for curriculum traffic. 1 for the San switch 1, 1 for the second San switch and another one for admin traffic. We use the ip hash for the 3 nics for curriculum. Got about 5-6 per host 4 host in total. So buying a 4 port nic for each host will help?

How can you use wireshark to monitor the entire network and gain a picture of what devices are using the most bandwith or what protocol is being used the most?

hi any one know of good software that i could use on the network to monitor traffic. i would like to see what protocols are being used and see what is hitting the bandwith hard, either by installing an agent on each pc or scanning it by ip etc.. we have a mixture of mostly netgear and a hp switch at the core.
