Why backlash? What you've said has been said by many of the "professional" reviewers. I'm not an immersive cinema goer, nor an extensive one, but I found myself muttering "yes" under my breath several times, along with an almost audible "no" on a couple of occasions too. I got swept along with the hype / familiarity / nostalgia and enjoyed it.

I'm trying to rework our Languages VA which involves removing the results of about half the cohort justified by the "what if we changed our entry policy" logic. Being nothing more than a humble DM I'm doing this without question but I seem to have struck a problem. As I was going along I've checked on a couple of occasions to see what effect the changes have made. After the first half dozen pupils the VA report (KS24.VAExp_EB) seemed to reflect the changes I had made with a reduced entry tally and a change VA score. After a dozen amendments I noticed that the entries tally had reduced by only 11. I rechecked the pupils I had done (all seemed fine) and did a couple more. Since then the tally has remained static despite now having amended 16 pupils!? I've pressed all the "Confirm Changes" buttons I can find, but most of these do not seem to do anything. Does anyone have any ideas of what might be happening, or how I can force the update?

As I see it, at the very start of the footage the car driver is far enough in front to have pulled over before the lorry driver starts flashing him.

Whilst the headline is about the response time of the police, and the lorry driver clearly has some explaining to do, the cynic in me thinks the driver of the car might just be milking this for all it's worth. Who in their right mind would not have pulled over as soon as the lorry started to re-enter the middle lane? The car driver appears to be "aiming" for a glancing blow. And there are clearly flashing amber lights reflected off the front and the back of the lorry in that footage - was the car driving with hazard lights on? It appears so to me. According to the BBC report the car driver "runs a dashcam company"; I'll wager this was all some kind of setup.

Well, we've jumped in with both feet as our IT team didn't have the settings correct on SOLUS3 so we came in this morning to find the server had upgraded itself but a lot of workstations had not!

In this scenario, where image quality is not paramount and a few artefacts on the image won't matter, I'd set the camera to the highest ISO setting possible. You'll need a good depth of field to cover 6 or 8 lanes in a swimming pool so do two things:- 1 - move it AWAY from the pool - this sounds counter-intuitive but it will help 2 - use a shortish focal length (say 35mm or less) these will both help get the greatest depth of field and so get more of the scene in focus. I assume you are shooting indoors so you will need a fairly wide aperture to get a decent speed, but the wider the aperture the shallower the depth of field will be. I'd aim for an aperture that gave me at least 1/100th sec shutter speed - if you can get to f8 and still have 1/100th (or faster) then I reckon you'll be in with a chance of getting the images you want. A tripod and remote release would help too.

Well, clearly DM's in the wild are a rare thing! There were three of us there, all under the watchful eye of our SLT lead. TBH, you didn't miss much - I've learned far more from this forum than I'll ever learn in a hotel room at the less salubrious end of the District Line.
