I was installing it on an XP machine - can't be many new users with PCs using anything other than Win7 so prob a lack of testing the latest version on a "clean" XP machine is the problem (unless something I did in the past turned TLS off ) Si

Short answer is no and since it costs very liitle for a windows server licence/client cals its just not worth any pain. Simon

OK now ta I was setting up my laptop for itunes so I could buy some apps for and Ipad - basically ended up in ie settingings changing TL1.0 to enabled (whatever that is!) It wasn't the first thing on the troubleshooting list! - god knows how normal people cope with stuff like that On wife's comp know - my comp still won't start (well it starts but doesn't stay on for more than 3 secs!) Well you say that but I well remember when we got a metalaphone at St Mary's when we already had glockenspiels and an Xylophone - it was really cool (but very expensive due to the titanium coated bars) but it inspired me and led me on to help with backing tracks with Floyd,Bowie and Eno. So some kid on Garageband might do the same sort of thing Si PS I think there are a liitle bit old for outdoor play equipment unless we are talking a school paintball range

BTW - the point is that the ones who can do, and the ones that can't are able to join in with something sounding a bit better than the traditional triangle and therefore are more included in the music lesson. Doesn't need an IPad to do this (I've done it with laptops and 2Music) but by golly - garageaband is yet again another top notch Appple App that makes other progs look 18th century Simon

Updated to V1.1 which has a separate cache file for each php file using one. This lets you run multiple variations on same server (a weekly views needs all the current weeks records but a planner view only needs records from today onwards) Simon

I've developed some code for a primary school to retrieve and parse a Google Calendar RSS feed so that it can be easily displayed on a large screen in the staff room. SimpleCal.txt (Cut and paste code into a PHP file to run it) Here is a demo of the code in action Google Calendar Reader with Simple Output The first part of the code does the hard work to cache the feed (so the display can be refreshed without upsetting Mr Google with repeated requests for same info) and converts the RSS XML into something a lot more manageable and easy to understand. Not tried manual activate yet - was just suprised not to be asked or have a warning tray icon. Just doing a Win Update to see if it auto-picks up wi-fi drivers etc. Simon

1st problem - no wireless (presumably needs a driver) so having to connect via a cable (how quaint )to see if it will automagicaly update itself Si

Just done this and though I'd document the fails Got Win7Pro upgrade DVD and licence key from county support. Copied the dvd to D: partition on netbook Ran setup and chose to select upgrade existing installtion. FAIL Not allowed to do - computer says do anytome upgrade from start menu. So start that process - got asked for licence key - it verified it and then started process to do the upgrade FAIL Computer says licence key wrong sort to do anytime upgrade!! Went back to running setup from d: partition and chose new install and went down that route. YIPPEE - seems to have worked One small prob though - it didn't ask for licence key???? so I'll be waiting for something to popup and tell me I'm not properly licenced - or wil I be? Simon
