Never heard of them - there's a special Skype version for Unifi networks? Just thought of using WhatsApp as its much better quality talking to my daughter in China compared to Skype Simon

The idea is to use them on school WiFi as school wireless class phones They would stay in the class They are for staff use Simon

A primary head of mine has moved to a MUCH bigger school that doesn't have internal class phones and he asked me about using PAYG androids both for this and as class cameras. Anyone done such as thing - I'm thinking just buy one £10 top up to get going and then just use it on WiFi from then onwards. Simon

Did another of my schools today - managed to do it in about 1 hour - upgrade to 3 and then upgrade to 4 This one didn't show any peculiar topology

2 of my APs don't appear to be wireless bridged but I've got a dotted line between them on my map - any idea what that means?

What version should the APs (standard) end up at after all the upgrading? I've got some showing 3.2.12.2920 and some showing 3.2.12.2886 at the moment - unifi server is 4.7.6

Got my map back - interesting as it showing that one of my APs is in wireless bridgemode - off to check its net connections

V3 was fine V4 is completely different so going to have to upgrade my brain as well Seems to have lost my map and AP placement but I'll give it some time to see if it sorts itself out

I'm having to upgrade to 3 first before going to 4 but all going smoothly so far

Just discovered that I'm 2 major versions behind on my Unifi software! Just shows how good and stable the old version was - hope the newer stuff is just as good!

Codebug is great but a bit finicky to download and install progs. it has just got support for the generic RGB leds knon as NeoPixels so it can be used for a lot of bling projects I've got Scratch talking to it of course ScratchCodeBug – Cymplecy (Simplesi) Simon

I wont go into all my trials and tribulations with this fault but I finally managed today to clone a working teacher machine to the strange behaviour one and now it works fine! The teacher is now by bestest friend and loves the much superior registration that interacitve displays have - and the price of the board was £2600 which is a heck of a lot less than a few years ago and makes it a no brainer to buy an old 600 series for £1000. Of course, we'll have to see how long they last......... Hopefully in another 5 years - we'll have stick on sheets of OLED paper on all walls Simon

As we reach another year end - may I re-post my advice I give out every year to stressed workers in schools. DO NOT cause an accident to befall (or any other negative activity) the plonker that you are forced to work with or for, before the end of term. We all agree with you that they deserve it but please read on. The reason for this advice is not to stop you from doing it, but you will probably act in haste and due to your own tiredness, will not have thought through the proper procedures to get away with it! Instead, direct your frustration towards a fantastic plan to be executed (literally) in the New Year. Go into detailed planning and make sure you plan to cover your tracks VERY thoroughly. This is way, you can spend the rest of the term gleefully anticipating the demise of your nemesis and sure in the knowledge that you won't be caught. Now if it so transpires, that over the course of the Christmas holiday, as the days go by, and your mind turns away from work and more towards peace and goodwill to all, that your determination to get rid of them wanes. By New Years Eve, you probably won't even remember them. So, when you return to work in January, you be be re-vitalised and able to do another term. IF, on the other hand, your have not relaxed, then of course you have the satisfaction of knowing that you have a fool-proof plan to fall back on Simon Merry Christmas
