In Lancs? Which bit of the 100 page doc? (Doesn't matter cause the smtp.education... 587 works OK but just interested if another way works

Well thats interesting - My wife tried the smtp.office365.com settings but no luck BTSL got back to her when she asked them again with smtp.education.btsl.co.uk 587 and TLS and she says that works Simon

my wife (school primary bursar) wants to set up emailing orders from SIMs Finance She needs the mailserver name but Westfield said she had to see her local tech! In the old days (pre Office365) - Lancs ran their own mailservers outlook.lancngfl.ac.uk etc Is their an office 365 equivalent?? Simon

@mjs_mjs I don't know about Win10 but Pi2 Raspbian runs Libre Office so as long as your powerpoint works in that then you could just use standard rapsbian Simon PS post your PPT and I'll check it out for you

@MSLee_Stott if you work for MS - then you need to slow down as your not portraying them in a good light The question is about running a powerpoint using the Win10 version on a Pi 2. I think the answer is no - it won't do that but I may be mistaken. What is your answer. Simon PS if you don't work for MS and are just an enthusiast - please accept my apologies

Recently I seemed to be missing emails (signed up for service - no confirmation email arrives - people saying they;d emaled me - no sign of them) Found out today what the problem is Clutter (an email organising tool bought by microsoft) has been enabled on Lancs Office 365 email accounts Which is fine but I use Gmail to collect my school emails and clutter has removed some emails from the office365 account before gmail has had a chance to collect them I've turned Clutter off now but just a heads up for others Simon

Bumble This is my first attempt to use BYOB as the basis of Scratch controlling hardware. It lets me easily make custom blocks (like Scratch 2) but lets me re-use all my Scratch 1.4 python handler code. Hopefully, it will make using a Scratch based program to interface to real-world devices even easier for pupils - and teachers Simon

As we reach another year end - may I post the advice I give out every year to stressed workers in schools. DO NOT cause an accident to befall or any other negative activity, against the plonker that you are forced to work with/for, before the end of term. We all agree with you that they deserve it but please read on. The reason for this is that you will probably act in haste and due to your own tiredness, will not have thought through the proper procedures to get away with it. Instead, direct your frustration towards a fantastic plan to be executed (literally) in the earl days of September. Go into detailed planning and make sure you plan to cover your tracks thoroughly. This is way, you can spend the rest of the term gleefully anticipating the demise of your nemesis and sure in the knowledge that you won't be caught. Now if it so transpires, that over the course of the summer break, as the days go by, and your mind turns away from work, that your determination to get rid of them wanes. By middle of august, you probably won't even remember them. So, when you return to work in September, you be be re-vitalised and able to do another year. If, on the other hand, your have not relaxed, then of course you have the satisfaction of knowing that you have a fool-proof plan to fall back on Simon

Crumble is my goto controller board of choice for primaries. It has been around for over 6 months and it fully works and you can actually buy them (as opposed to Codebug - KS early backers only and microbit ????) Also, the GUI is very Scratch like so minimal learning curve for teachers (and I'm developing an interface to Scratch itself) So if you want to be rolling in september it either it or Arduino (i want to get a CodeBug/Crumble connector type shield made for Arduinos so that they can be used with all the available Crumble add-ons) Simon

I think I've sussed it Once the pdf is uploaded to Google Drive - right click on the pdf and select open with google docs What it seems to do is then try to convert each page into text but it interleaves the pdf pages with the converted pages So page 1 is original pdf - page 2 if converted page 1 etc I'll have to try this on a real book with the TA on monday Simon

I see no "upload settings" anywhere could you screenshot where it is on your system please?

It didn't offer to do it when I just tried it

Or maybe get the TA to try out Nitro Pro and see if that does it relaibly
