Google Glass, What do you guys really think?
Hefferzzzz replied to abillybob's topic in General Chat
You know that there is no law preventing people from photographing or filming in a public place? Anyone who told me to stop photographing in a public area would get short shrift. Also, my iPhone doesnt have kind of indicator on it when/if i decide to record video, what about someone on a video call... -
Who cares if he is Stephen Hawking or Joey Essex!? Is he getting the job done? Is he delivering results?

[ipad] Tablet - BYOD - Parents leasing them???
Hefferzzzz replied to Hefferzzzz's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Yes, there will need to be a suitable case for it but the head is adament that its a good idea so I think it will be going ahead regardless..... I dont know anyone that has gone through this already so wanted a bit of a heads up really. Adding another 800+ devices to the network will cause issues that will need addressing, not to mention the MDM side of it. It looks like we will be setting up a meeting to get a bit more info about it anyway. -
[ipad] Tablet - BYOD - Parents leasing them???
Hefferzzzz posted a topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Hi Everybody! Had a call from one of my suppliers this morning and they were saying that they have a new scheme where all the pupils in school can get their own tablet through a portal and the parents pay for it over a period of time. Obviously the head loves this idea as everyone will have a nice shiny ipad and it wont come out of the school budget and to be honest I quite like the idea of being able to use it as a reason to updgrade some of our switches and wireless. Has anyone else gone through this sort of BYOD scheme? Did it work out? Any pitfalls to look out for?? Cheers! -
Three votes from me. Go get 'em tiger!
-
No, it was quite obviously them illegal immigrant types wot did it.

Looks a tad on the photoshopped side to me

Not a problem at all using them for small, uncomplicated, unmanaged set ups. Reliable and cheap enough to replace if they go bang outside of warranty. Buy the best you can and at that price they are the best.

Gone are the days when parents have the time to do that or indeed live close enough to do that, especially when its freezing/raining. I lived opposite a junior school for 7 years and frequently had ignorant parents park across and even on a couple of occasions park on my drive. They soon stopped that when my an the neighbour blocked them in and ignored them banging on the door....

Take your walking shoes and a map. There are so many things to see and plenty of really nice old churches, fountains, buildings, restaurants etc.

A key point that hasnt been mentioned is the change to tyre regulations mid season. Before Silverstone everyone was competitive on the '13 tyres. RBR didnt like that (ignore the safety concerns abotu Silverstone its a red herring) so they put unfair pressure on to get teh tyres back to '12 spec when they were dominant. So, everyone elses develpment on faster degrading tyres was wasted whilst RBR just went back to last years spec car and quell surprise dominated every race thereafter. Vettel is not a great. Vettel is not even brilliant. Vettel has a car with superior (illegal) engineering to any other car out there and that is a big part of why he wins so much. Please do not quote Webber not being at the same pace as some sort of defence because it isnt. Everyone knows Seb gets the good stuff before Webber and that Webber gets shafted an awful lot in that team. IF RBR could have one driver and pick up double constructor points then they would. I dislike Horner, Vettel, and RBR. They are no better than playground bullies and have no interest in F1 as a sport at all. Oh, while we are at it, I thought that track limits were being rigourously enforced at India......

I have done a couple of weddings. Be careful with putting his details up here as that could land you in court for libel. Also, read your contract. There may be a part in there about 'no gurantee of photos, equipment defect etc..' - he would be a total ass to use this and would ruin his reputation if he were to fall back on this. He should have professional indemnity insurance so they will insist on data recovery before any restaging of wedding etc.

For breakfast!? Chocolate Pizza for breakfast!?!? Well, it beat the shreddies that I endured!
-
So, sweets from Very, Chocolate from Millgate. Just need two more suppliers to chip in with pork scratching and beer
-
Yes, cant remember the exact details but had a car and a bike (at different times). Something like £250 and £300 a month. Hated every single moment of it, twice. Always thinking that I could be spending that money going out, entertaining ladies and having fun rather than having it tied up in a car. Also worth factoring depreciation into the monthly payments to see if it still looks good... £300 * 48 months + depreciation of £5k over same period makes it actually cost £404 per month.... Would rather put that £400 into an ISA for two years and buy a nice car outright.

Unfortuanutly the programme just makes me think that there is a case for the cane being reintroduced - for parents.

I agree with the notion of it but very difficult to put into practice effectively. I dont think that there is anything wrong with making children use proper words at all. -
I am with @Sunnyknight on this. sort of. If its poisonous, dangerous, can cause me or my family pain then its going to get squished. Bhuddist Xen or not, I dont care. I dont mind 'normal' spiders, but poisonous ones can
