  1. So WHY are YOU on the PHONE* ??? You are in the presence of greatness and you sit there tweeting about it. Honestly the youth of today. In my day we would have just sat and giggled uncontrollably. *may not actuallly be on a phone and any likeness to a phone is purely coincidental.
  2. Please make sure there is some left for me on Friday
  3. 12 miles, 20 min most days. Courtesy of a 2.5 straight six
  4. Tech-Air will brand them for you for about £5 per case but they have a minimum of 50 units.
  5. so....all the snow storms in america is because Elton John and his partner went to a screening of Liberace?
  6. FWIW, I am not going into the tablets are good/bad as that akin to getting into a vegetarianism is good/bad - everyone thinks they are right and no one really gets any benefit from the discussion. SLT like the idea, I have put forward my concerns to SLT regarding such a scheme and they have been taken into consideration, it helps that I work in a place where I am seen as an important part of the machine and not just that bloke in IT. We (head, me, hod ICT) have had three meetings about this with 3 different companies - Academia, Millgate, Jigsaw. We have the infrastructre to cope with another 600 devices, we will be using MDM while they are connected to our network so they wont be able to do anything they couldn't on a 'school' machine. Apparently most parents are fine with the idea and the costs involved (as long as its one where they get to keep the device), the ones that genuinly cannot will be provided with a loan unit for the duration that their child is with us. Each company has their own merits but the one we are going to further discussion and parental consultation on will be with Millgate. They are the only one we found to be offering a pool of a few devices for some of those that cannot afford to pay, a range of tablets - not just ipads, the parents get to keep the devices at the end of it, Millgate willl take care of all of the payment processing and chasing / insurance / faulty product issues. I *just* have to get the devices here before they go out to add security/apps/mdm - this will be part of the contract with parents if we do go ahead. Still early days but as long as its done right and the teachers actually use them as they should do, I cant see it being too much of a problem. Maybe.
  7. and yet many of those who claim not to be able to afford it will have xboxes, playstations, sky tv, foreign holidays, iphones (parent and child)......its £10 a month. If you go on a teachers forum, the majority are for it as they can see an educational benefit to it. On here? Its mainly the tech side problems or the anti tablet/Apple side of things.
  8. I think you can trade it for elixr
  9. I honestly cannot believe anyone sells their car to 'webuyanycar' Biggest bunch of rip off merchants going. I put them in the same basket as Wonga.
  10. Has to be the coffee for me. It was the only thing I stopped having during that period and stomach cramps/bloatedness has gone compeltely. I dont drink coke/pepsi either.
  11. I stopped drinking it because I had a feeling it was making me quite ill - headaches, stomach cramps, bloatedness.....not had any of that for two weeks even allowing for Christmas indulgences. Quite lucky in the fact that once I decide on something then that is it so I came in one day and didnt have any at all, really wanted one but reminded myself why and that was it, one day became and then two, three days and so on. I should say that I dont drink tea either, probably a handful of cups a year at most.
  12. Just had my first cup of coffee for after a self imposed 3 week fast. Wow, I can see sounds! Its brilliant!!
  13. Take them to Bett and give them out to random people.
  14. Good Coffee Cremes Turkish Delight Bad Nutty ones. Especially those big purple ones. All of ours are gone now and its back to cous cous and sweet potato until Easter
  15. Audi A4 Avant S-Line Le Mans edition. 3.0 diesel. Looks superb on the outside, feels better than a BMW inside, goes like stink, loads of room, reliable.
  16. What would cost more then? Build wider motorways, introduce new gantry signs, limits, enforcement. Build new/recommisson old rail hubs.
  17. Most towns and cities have train stations though. Use smaller local lorries to deliver from there?
  18. That is one of the greatest problems with mankind. The belief that we are the most important thing on the planet. How about we curb the sprawling destruction of the natrual habitat? How about we stop breeding so much? How about families learn to live together again like we used to rather then using some false sense that we are entitled to do as we please?
  19. Great idea. As long as you ban lorries/caravans/trailers/minibuses from lanes 2 + 3! Can you imagine it, a lorry in lane 1 doing 56mph, a caravan in lane 2 doing 58 mph and some poor so and so in a car doing 60mph in lane 3. Yep, really going to ease congestion that.
  20. Yes its is all Thatchers fault again Nothing to do with the 20 years of governemnts since then.... The real problem is trying to build out and not up. Land is at a premium so stop putting 10 houses on a bit of land where 200 apartments could go.
  21. A bloody cheese knife set.
  22. oh boo hoo teachers suck yah boo rah Why cant we all just get along
  23. Grumpiness is for life not just for Christmas. Really annoys me with all these 'Festive Grumps' ruining things and jumping on the bandwagon. Same as all those wannabees who will be in the gym next month. Piffle!
  24. Hefferzzzz

    Ill people

    Getting drunk wont help
  25. Doesnt matter what they are doing. If its in a public place anyone can take photos or record video of whatever it is they are doing. No one could lawfully stop them doing it. If you did stand in the way and obstruct/threten them, you would be the one being spoken to by 'the law'. I am not saying its right, but people seem to have a misbelief that they have total privacy in public areas. I could take a picture of your house from the pavement and you wouldnt lawfully be allowed to stop me. You may well (as would I) want to go and have a friendly chat with someone taking pictures of your house though.
