I (sort of) heard this on the radio this morning, but it was shrouded by the fog of semi-consciousness as I aroused from my slumbers. I wasn't sure if I'd dreamed it, to be honest!

Looking back, I've won... absolutely nothing at all... ever*. Not in S(t)ocktober nor in MADvent, nor even during Prize-a-Day May. @Stevecee, however, seems to get drawn out of the chassis/sock in every competition and, each time, I feel the short thrill of expectation only to have my hopes dashed to pieces, like a wave crashing against a defiant cliff-face. With a bit of luck, though, @Stevecee may not hear about Stocktober this time and I shall claim what is rightly mine. Help me out here, guys. NOBODY tell @Stevecee. Shhhh! *Actually, over they years I've won a 'Bring Me The Box' t-shirt, a mug, a pair of VeryPC snuggle socks, 2 UFDs, an Intel water bottle and a Hello Kitty advent calendar, but they were all bonus prizes so they don't count.

I say, old chap, that sounds like a bonus entry kind of idea to me. Mr DeMille, I'm ready for my close up.

20 or 30 years in his opinion! I've got to be honest, I thought the actual episode was awful! People talking all at once, with Catherine Tate going 20 to the dozen. I found it really difficult to concentrate on what was actually going on*, and the verdict itself bore little relation to what (I think) was happening during the deliberation. That said, I think the BBC deserves to be congratulated for addressing a difficult topic head-on. (*To be fair, though, I'd had a few drinks before I listened to it. ) EDIT: So I don't sound like I'm completely alcohol dependent, I'd been out to watch a film and bumped into some friends. I didn't get home until turned midnight, and I listened to it on catch-up.

Agreed - but to be honest, I don't think it's really about the freebies; it's more about us all wanting to join in with the shenanigans at VeryPC HQ.
