The rest of explorer seems to work ok you wouldn't notice a problem other than the time being frozen. NTP is working correctly, the system time is correct, but the taskbar time freezes at some point and the only fix is to restart the computer or restart explorer.exe. I checked with the suggested Time Sync Tool and no issues in getting the correct time. Some of the Google Foo suggested a problem with the display driver which I have updated. The time is correct and bang on when you go to the lock screen.

No don't think so it's happening on more than one computer, and these are fairly new plus if you restart explorer.exe it updates the taskbar to the correct system time
-
No, its random. I have just spoken to one of them and her computer is still showing 11:16 this morning and it freezes the time maybe I didn't explain that very well.

This one is making me scratch my head! The ladies in the main office have been reporting in the last 2 weeks that after a while the time is incorrect on the taskbar. I have updated one of them from 22H2 to 23H2 but no difference. If you lock the computer, the correct time is displayed on the lock screen but log back in is still incorrect on the taskbar. I have figured out that if you restart explorer.exe it seems to fix it temporarily. I have tried updating the graphics driver to the latest version, but this is still puzzling me. The computers are the correct time just explorer seems to be crashing. Anyone experienced this or got any ideas?

Parent's Evening Software? What're you using that works well?
AliG replied to pete's topic in How do you do....it?
Did you switch to EduLink for Parents Evening bookings? Did you miss anything? -
Also use the FD reset hole and not the normal reset hole which is the mistake I made

Does anyone know that if I am in year 2 of a 3 year OVS can I move to M365 or do I need to honour the 3 year OVS term? I am getting mixed advice from different resellers.
-
Yes I think you are right regards to the confusion between EES and CSP I am looking at moving from OVS to EES too and at the moment it just seems a no brainer, its cheaper and more feature rich. I'm just concerned about the technical side of activating the licenses. I am told Windows 10 Home is a qualifying OS for EES, but I believe CSP would be more problematic and would require a Windows 10 Pro MAK upgrade key from Microsoft which would be limited to the EQU count.

Hi, Did you make the switch to M365 Licensing I am just looking at this and although it will be approx £2k cheaper and feature rich (via a JISC membership) I have concerns around Windows 10 Home on some devices, OS and Office M365 activation via M365. Did you make the switch and did you have any difficulties or regrets? Thanks, AliG

Anyone any ideas on why the networking part fails. New Identical hosts. Fails networking with the error 'No active adapters were found on one or more servers' (see attached error)
-
Apologies you did say you checked that already

A slightly related question, if you are using GPP to deploy printers then do you need to have the point and print settings configured or can this be turned off? I understood the print and point setting was required so that general users are not prompted to install drivers.
-
Maybe this is the behavior of the current vulnerability?
-
Maybe you have the GPO option Point and Print restrictions set which allow the print server and allows users to install drivers via this setting

I had more success with the lite version of IVMS although is still crashes if you try to playback view more than say 4 cameras

Hi, Have you checked that you have enough free disk space before doing the upgrade? You might find you don’t have enough free disk space for the backup that runs prior to the update. AliG

When i started down the Office 2019 route I was making a silly mistake in the batch file with the path and i also added the full path for the configuration file too. I then discovered Microsoft Office 365 Apps instead and switched to that and discovered the OneDrive integration is better. AutoSave!

Yes we had this too the 20gb data was used in 3 or 4 days and that sends them to the splash screen

It will be the end of the world for our science teachers when boardworks stops working, i did suggest doddle science as a replacement but since that i also found out it still has some flash content.

No still experiencing this, the same students can access meeting chat in other lessons and other students have access to meeting chat in all lessons. I sent out a survey to try and find a pattern of devices, app and browsers etc. but this as not really helped. I found a few mentions of this being a Teams bug and leaving and re entering the meeting would resolve it but not really followed this up.

Our Year 11 are on remote learning for 2 weeks and I am getting reports that some students cant use the meeting chat function but a few of them say it works in other lessons. Meeting and Messaging policies are set correctly. My first reply is that they are not signing into Teams with their school email address and entering as a guest. Another student I realised was using a Samsung tab which for some reason never had the meeting chat function. Is there a different experience for some devices? Is it because some teachers have enabled Team moderation although I would still expect meeting chat to work. Stumped! Any suggestions?
