And the monarchy powers get less and less, the right to dissolve Parliament is now revoked due to the Fixed Term Parliaments Act 2011. George V nearly refused the Irish Bill in 1925 over the fact he didn't want them to be independent. Original question: Would never get married as she is a catholic and I do believe that our monarchy has to marry someone from the Church of England.

The Shoutcast Server is free and open source - Download a copy of Shoutcast DNAS - you can then set your own bitrate etc. (You will most likely need an outbound IP or if behind LEA Firewall, the port you pick needs to be unblocked so traffic can pass through)
-
Shoutcast would still be the best , what issues are you having with it?

Its due to friends, I had a Bebo account back in 08, all my school friends had one, but they moved to Facebook, once you start missing out on stuff in school gossip is a big incentive to move (I opened by fb account in 09) - and it spreads like that, now with older people I suspect that is down to the publicity it has received from all those school/uni people.

You don't need one Apple ID per device! The way you push Apps to devices isn't based on Apple ID, its on Device UDID so don't worry about that one. Fed up of reading about 'multiple Apple IDs' when ONE is fine! What MDM solution are you using/going to use?

Intel at home, but my boss loves AMD so got AMD in work

Or just use IIS with Windows Authentication, the variable of the username is then $_SERVER['AUTHENTICATED_USER'] (Which is actually domain\user - and then you can use explode to split it in an array and then just use the username)

Nope, to restore and fix the issues, have to use Apple Configurator which is a waste of time. Apple have been pushing this stuff in Schools for ages but we still don't have the proper school grade MDM policies that we need to properly implement them. But the entire iPad deployment model that Apple see is 1:1 iPads for each child, meaning that if a child puts a passcode they will know what it is as it is their device.

There is no native support for SMB, theres not really native support for WebDav so accessing User Home Folders has to be done via the web browser using something like HAP+, but then Safari has further restrictions on what files it can download to the iPad (iPads have no file system, its all per app sandboxing). And uploading to Safari is even worse, you can ONLY upload a picture or a video, so any work done in Pages etc has to be pushed via WebDav which is now, coming to the end of its life as its so insecure - but then, all apps may not support WebDav so you begin juggling ways to store files. You can disable the App Store which is all good, disable removal of apps, disable installation of profiles from another source, disable Facetime and Siri etc To be managing and configuring on a large scale, you need to have definetly a OTA MDM solution, its all well and fine Supervising the devices using Configurator but for the day to day management of App Pushes, restriction changes etc its much easier to be done OTA. Recommend Meraki really as its free, but it isn't perfect, I have not yet found one MDM solution that is 100% perfect and will do everything you ask of it, this is partly down to Apple and the restrictions it places on 3rd party MDM solutions (You can get much more management features with Profile Manager, but it lacks basic features that Meraki has - so its a balancing act)

You can use .NET (C# or VB) to create something called a FileSystemWatcher, which you give it a target - run it and then when the event fires, get it to execute something.

Correct, you don't need one Apple ID per device. We went for the Institutional Model, meaning we have one Apple ID signed into all our 59 iPads, from my seat and with a simple click, I can push Apps to all 59 iPads using Profile Manager (Apple's MDM solution) regardless if they are VPP or not. In terms of VPP, any Apple ID can redeem a VPP code, it does not have to be a special account or whatever, it just must be signed into the iPad(s) to redeem - One thing though, it cannot be the VPP Program Facilitator or Manager account. I have been doing this now for a 18 months or so, and see multiple threads of these questions being answered completely differently by each person. Everybodys deployment is different, meaning the steps you take are also different. Our deployment of iPads just works and carries on working due to the hard planning work I put in, it is important to inform teachers these are not the 'save the world' devices, they can't easily connect to Windows Shares, you can't save files as it has no real file system (Each app has a independent file system, meaning using an App to upload documents is out of the question due to the security contexts of the device). Try solutions and fiddle with it till it works is the best option. Also it matters what MDM are you going to be using in the future, the majority 3rd party ones work the same but using Profile Manager has differences that you must be aware of. -
CHROME FTW.

Teachers using own Apple IDs on supervised devices
SovietRussia replied to Tammie's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Also, if the Staff member purchases it on their Apple ID, when they leave they will take the app with them. The school then does not own it, its advisable to NOT do this and use the Institutional Deployment model. To learn about the different deployment models (it is very handy to know what they are and what is recommended) Page 24 - http://images.apple.com/uk/education/docs/ios_6_education_deployment_guide.pdf -
