Hi guys. I have this workstation where doesn’t matter who I log in asI get the same issue when I try to create a new folder or document in thedocuments folder and rename it, I get Item could not found if I click Try againit works. When I click on Libraries on the side bar none of thefolders are shown either. I really don’t want to reinstall windows if I don’t have tobut it seems like windows got corrupted. The computer has windows 7 pro installed. Any ideas? Thanks

Yes it is R2 Just getting used to it. This is only my 2nd server to setup from scratch & my 1st sql server install. But getting there! (thanks to you of course)

Thanks. I think I'm going to reinstall it now that I know what went wrong. Yes I'm going to create another account just for this especially because if we change the administrator's password later on I guess it would affect this program. About the SQL server I'm only following what the SIMS guys sent to me. They actually emailed me all the files in a zip format. So it should be okay. Thanks so much!

Yes I'm using the express version as Capita who looks after SIMS asked me to install that version, I think the full version isn't free so might be that's the reason. So now that the service is running, should I reinstall the SQL server? There was an option in the middle of the install where it was asking for an account. I just assumed it used the admin account which was there but I remember seeing this other account too. Also the SQL Server Agent is disabled in services, should I enable it? Hope that's to too many questions! Thanks

the account that it states in services/SQL SERVER (SQLEXPRESS) is NT Service\MSSQL$SQLEXPRESS with a really long password? Also the service is not running and I cannot start either. Must be that. Should I change it to the administer account?

Hi Guys. I’m trying to install SQL server 2014 onto a windows server 2012 server for the preparation of SIMS to come in and do the migration of SIMS and FMS from an old server to this new server. I’m keep getting this error: Wait on the Database Engine recovery handle failed. Check the SQL Server error log for potential causes. I also get a red cross on the database engine services and SQL server replication with status failed at the end of the installation. In this school we have 2 servers Curriculum and Admin. This new server will be replacing the admin server. When I install the SQL server I choose the 1st option new Sql server standalone installation and then I get this error. Do I get this error because we already have an SQL server in our domain? Or it is nothing to do with? Any help would be much appreciated Thanks

I had to leave the school now. Will be back on Monday and I think im gonna delete bay 6 and re add it to the right place:) yes bay 4 is a spare. when I pulled bay 6 or 5 out, bay 4 kicked in to take over. I think that's ok. Still not clear why I have 2 logical drives one with 4 drives and the other (bay5 and 6) 2 drives. Shouldn't be just one?

well Im not sure. we had bay 5 and bay 4 failing recently so I changed those drives, turned out that bay 4's drive did not fail but by then we had a new drive. So I thought I stick it in. That is now in Bay 6. When I pull out bay 6 drive the disk managment still showd that there was that unallocated drive. I also tryied to pull out bay 5 and bay 4 with the same results. I only pulled out one at a time. confusing:)

Hi guys. I’m trying to expand the size of a drive which is in a RAID 5 configuration. I have added an extra drive to the server (Bay 6) and it shows up in the ACU but when I go to the Disk Management, the drive shows as unallocated space and I can’t figure it out how to add this drive to my existing School Data drive. I have attached a document which contains the snap shot of the current configuration. So in a nut shell I’d like to add the 279GB of unallocated space to my drive G School Data (568GB). Hi Guys. I’m having problem going online on a windows server 2003 machine. The network connection seems to be okay as Sophos antivirus updates without a problem but I cannot go to any websites. I’m using IE8 with enhanced features disabled. Any help would be much appreciated Thanks

Hi there. Thanks. The problem with this is that we have three floors and students using different laptops according to their year group. I notice that this setting is in user configuration. Pupils use the same mandatory profile so it would be good to set the laptops and pc's to the printers rather than the users. Would that be possible?

Hi guys. What is the best way of making a printer as default printer for computers. Is there a gpo for that? I'd like to avoid using a script for it. We have 5 printers all deployed through gpo to the workstation. i have ust added another printer which became the default printer and that's not what I wanted Any help would be much appriciated Thanks

Thanks. I'm trying to find the place where I can reduce it but when I go to the graphics card properties there is no troubleshooting tab. As I'm reading about it that is where I suppose to do it.

Hi guys. I have a vostro 2520 laptop that has a distorted/fuzzy screen. It does not always go distorted, sometimes the image is stable for hours. This only happened since the laptop has been upgraded from win 8 to Win 8.1. Previously on other laptops,same model(we have about 50 in the school) got the same issue and the only way around it was to put it back to Windows 8. The laptop is using Intel HD graphics 3000. I have just updated the driver from Intel’s website to the latest but the problem is still there. Any ideas? Thanks

Yes. That didnt work either. Thats when I found out that the problem is that Silverlight install is corrupted. This tool was telling me. Lol. There was no option to fully remove it. I tried to clear the registry with anything called Silverlight as well but as I and the customer tried to installed it so many times there were load of registry which I just couldn't delete. After 3hours I had enough. I cant even charge for it. If they go for the wipe that will fix it for sure! And i might make something on it😃but thanks

Try to download mozzila and it happened there too. But this time was clearly telling my about the certificate error. How do you add manually?
