Hi guys I have a laptop that looses the wireless connection. Every time I restart this laptop I have to manually press the function key to switch the wireless on. Its an Asus X5DC. Win 7 Home premium. Brand new installation. Tried 32 bit and 64 bit installs and I have also updated the wireless driver to the latest driver from the Atheros website. Any help would be great! Thanks

Yes its a pain. Ms office used to take ages to load because of ink. But I think you have problems writing over eg. word if you remove it.

Could it be Smart ink? Ive just removed it and the problem seems to go. Very odd

Hi guys. Im getting an issue with some pages like google or staff mail pages on internet explorer. On both IE10 and IE11. When you go to google you have to scroll down to see the page. The strange thing is that not all pc s doing this. Even when they are identical. I get the same error on an administrator account as well as on a teacher account. Any ideas? I cleared and reset IE but that hasn't fixed it. Neither the compatibility view setting. Thanks

Well last week a teacher started to get the you have been logged in with a temporary profile message whenever she logged in on a new pc. I looked at her profile which I was allowed to go in ( strangely) then I though lets look at her security settings and yep i was the owner of her profile. So I changed that to give her the ownership and today its working:) not sure how it changed tho. But its working. Okay i might just start looking at each profile. Would I mess up a profile if a user is logged in while I'm playing with ownership and stuff?
-
Well ive got an issue on the server side. I can only allowed to look at a profile once I've taken the ownership. So ive been playing with an old profile. I think if i take the ownership of a profile and then give the ownership back to the user i don't corrupt the profile but I can still view it. Is that correct? If you see what I mean;)

Right. I excluded in the appdata\roaming the themes, privacIE, cookies. This was about 3.5 MB. I checked on the server a profile and there isn't a local or local low folder inside appdata. Last time I looked on the users pc and I think that fooled me. 😃
-
Great! Thanks
-
I see thanks for that. What is the file is in appdata\local? Would that follow the user when logged into another computer? Thanks
-
Hi. Well what I'm trying to do is to reduce roaming profile sizes. Just notice that some of the teachers had 3, 4 and even 900 mb profile sizes. Pretty big! Also just today one of the teacher reported that her profile is coming up as temporary profile whenever she logs in on a pc other than her usual pc. Checked her profile at that pc and turned out her outlook ost file 4.3gb and its located in the appdata folder. Do you guys know how to safely relocated that to the my documents folder where is already a setup for redirection. Thanks
-
Hi Guys. I’d like to ask about redirecting the AppData folder. Does it really slows down applications performance if Iredirect users AppData forlder? The reason I’d like to do it is to reduce thelogin times for users. Thanks

Thanks guys. I found out that he had two accounts and he forgot when he change back to his old account! At least the network is okay! Thanks
-
Thanks. Ive downloaded the program with NTFS. thats the correct one isn't it?
-
One thing I forgot to mention. His been saving to the documents folder which has the folder redirection on so he thought when he saves to documents folder its all okay. Now i showed him how to go to computer than his drive than save there. Which should be better. Slower but safer.

Morning guys. I have a user who has lost quite a lot of his documents. Very important ones. I've looked on the server on the backups but its nothing there. I know that he hardly switch his pc off. I think his been working on a temporary profile and since he restarted his pc last week he noticed the lose of documents. His profile looks okay now but i guess his logged in okay now. Is there any way i can get back those documents? Im going to work on the pc in 40 min. Thanks

Hi Guys. Does any of you using cloud based backup for the school's data? If so which one would you recommend? Thanks
