I don't know as I didn't setup this server. This is the only server that has this 2 vm installed on. unfortunately no snap are available, all greyed out.

4.29GB left on the data store, and that is where everything is stored. I cant do anything on either of the servers, I read about reserving memory so that the swap file can be smaller but when I click on either of the vm's its just shows zeros. The server has another slot for a hard drive. If I add that drive to the data store would that solve the problem? I guess I have to reboot the server and added to the existing raid or create a single raid0 drive? Thanks

the swap file is being stored with the vm. I tried to move off stuff like logs and managed to have around 5gb free space but I cannot move any of the 'bigger' files. I'm using the datacentre download feature. Basically these 2 servers were for the users profiles and documents and also for shares. When the problem started users could not access their data.

No I haven't upgraded. I think we had a power cut or something as the servers power went off. I was not here and by time I arrived both servers under the host was showing the following. See attachment

Thanks everyone the replies. Still not working but as the school needs to move on i had to put in some temporary measures which took time. Will try again on Monday.

Hi. can browse to the data store and read the data. I think yes it is full. Im trying to expand the existing datastore but have no luck yet. There is an option to download and upload to the datastore so im going to download one of the server so that I can delete it and perhaps boot the other. I have taken some snaphoots of the datastore. see attachments thanks everyone so far:)

I can see the existing vmx and vmdk files yes.

There are 3 hot swappable drives are installed in this server. All reporting to be okay. On the host at the hardware have all green ticks. I haven't set up this server and this is my first virtual server.

Morning. I tried to recreate the vm but creating a new under the existing host and browse to the vmx file which seemed to have worked but then I could not boot the vm. It said that the swap file is too big or something. Im on my way back to the school now. Thank god the dhcp and dns servers are not on this host! But no data available to the school yet. [emoji85]

we are accessing the host via vSphere Client and we can ping the host okay. under the host where our 2 virtual servers are located it says that the volumes (....vmx) are inaccessible

Hi Guys. We have a Dell Poweredge R430 Server with VMware ESXi 6.0 installedWe are unable to manage or boot the host. Virtual machine is marked as inaccessible therefore we cannot powered them on The vmx file cannot be found. We cannot boot the virtual servers.The server is not in maintenance mode Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi. Both servers are on the same LAN. Firewall is set to off on both servers I think due to SIMS

Thanks for your reply. Forwarders are set on both servers to see each other and validating okay with a green tick. I can even see all the admin computers name and ip addresses on the curriculum server under forwarders and under the admin.local server but can't see or ping the admin.local server ;

I can ping the admin server on both servers, however I cannot ping the admin server from the curriculum server with its FQDN. Somewhere read that might be the firewall blocking it?

just fixed it back to the secondary. do I need to change them to stub zone?

Yes DNS is configured however just checked and they are set to secondary not stub zone. I just changed to stub on one of the server but now I messed it up:/ now it says zone not loaded by dns server

Hi everyone. I setup a trust between 2 servers but it only seems to workone way when I try to give access to a folder. I’m trying give permissions to access a folder on the curriculumserver for users on the admin server but when I click on the folder’sproperties ,security, add new user, change the location, select the admin server and trying to find a user on it the whole thing justfreeze then comes back saying name not found. However if I try to give access to afolder on the admin server for curriculum users there is no problem. The curriculum server is a Win server 2008 r2 server and theadmin server is a Win 2012 r2 server. Any help would be much appreciated

I didn't have to as it was already there. Its working now. There was a tftp or something like that in processes that was conflicting with the wds. Once i stopped that and restarted the wds it was working. Thanks anyway

Morning guys. I got the task to deploy a windows 7 image to various pc using windows deployment services. This site has recently bought some new all in one dell computers and the people who install the machines also set up Windows Deployment Services on the server that this site uses. I never used this program and I can’t ask the people who set it up how to use it so that is why I’m here. There are two images in the Install Image section. One is labelled as windows 7 64 bit and the other labelled as dell optiplex 3240 win 7 64bit which I believe is the image they deployed to the new all in one pcs. I did a bit of research and I think to deploy either of this images I have to right click and select Create Multitask Transmission which I did. After I believe you go to a pc and press f12 to get the pc boot from the pxe. This does work but then it says file not found and very quickly boots to the existing OS. I’m I missing a step here? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks
