The keyboard is a right pain to replace on the g7. Basically you have to take all the components off the motherboard, then swap keyboard and put back on. Probably about 1hr

there is a piece of software called Duet Display that will do this for you https://www.duetdisplay.com/. A bit glitchy but it does the job. You will need to pay for it though

is the school enrolled in Apple School Manager Jamf School seems to be the preferred way at present Once enrolled in Apple School Manager, purchase from an authorised education reseller ( you will get the best pricing ) and get them DEP. Once configured with Jamf School- (others are available) you just put the wifi in and the rest is history No need for charge and Sync anymore as everything is done over the air with modern MDM The trollies/Carts will thus be less expensive

in the process of joining 2 schools that have federated. They will use one server in the end. They currently use 2 servers one at each site with 2 sims databases. Going forward I wanted to have one VM with 2 sims databases on. is this possible. just think it will save making another VM.
