Anyone using the HP Stream 11.6" in classrooms yet. If so how you getting on. Particularly interested in the battery life

Really sorry was a rude comment to FoofighterJim and not helpful. i must have had a bad batch as the ones we had are very unresponsive and out of the 30 we have 10 power pack fails. It sounds like things have moved on from here. I was impressed with the console for managing them

Any recommend a data recovery utility for Mac's. Could be desperate!!!

NEC M230X throw ratio 1:1.3-2.4....- £340 from misco/ebuyer i think epson s3 1.45-1.95, so you are fine for that. you will have to change the plug from figure of eight to kettle, but should not have to move the mount

At the moment cost of the LCD's screens seems so much, as compared to a traditional board installation. You really do not want to go smaller than 55" and that is expensive and lets face it the newest boards the SBM680 is 77". Unless you go for SMART LCD's they sting you on the cost of Notebook license. Other thoughts are they are really heavy so will need a specialist installer and bat-toning. Also if a SB680 or equivalent breaks you would be unlucky if the projector breaks at the same time. If an LCD panel goes you maybe faced with a big bill. Having said all that, i think the LCD's are the way to go. I think that the tech is not quite there yet and this might be you are waiting till the next refresh cycle.

Anyone know the throw ratio on a EMP 760. I want to replace one that is gone, but do not want to move the cage. The spec sheet online does not list. Is it the same as the F;Number , which is F-number: 1.58 to 1.76 .76

Lenovo B5400 Laptops -WiFi Keeps Dropping
Chrisbf1 replied to mickeyh080's topic in Wireless Networks
We had a similiar issue with a load of Fujitsu a544. Fujitsu were not much help. Ending up going to the intel site and picking up the latest driver. This will probably not help you though. Are they 64 bit machines -
Let's see if they have sorted out the 'web clip' issue

Sunny Webbox, proxy issues
Chrisbf1 replied to Chrisbf1's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
by the machine, do you mean the sunny box or the laptop/pc -
Our school has just got Solar panels and they have a module that you can logon that tells you how much power it is producing. The problem is the school is on a proxy server. If you turn off the proxy you can access the ip address of the box. This is on the school ip range. why would turning the proxy off allow me to access the box, and how can I get round this. The company where not very helpful

I am going to be installing a new trolley of Macbook Airs. What is the best imaging tool to use. Clonezilla/redo /ghost alike. I do not mind doing it with USB hard drives. and if necessary paying for the software any thoughts
-
definitely opt for a sync and charge trolley would be my advice and I will second the Mac Mini thing. Nice and compact and avoids the temptation for someone to 'borrow' it to do mac stuff with. It is so small it can be tucked well away

Projector Not Holding Keystone Settings
Chrisbf1 replied to mgeorgetti's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
If it is anything like the NEC's. There is a setting called keystone save, which is off by default. You have too really look for it in the setup menu. I am guessing the Viewsonic has a similiar setting. Once you find this you will be away -
I would like a script to untick the 'automatically detect settings' box in Internet options. Group policy does not seem to handle this in the same way that it does the proxy server

[ipad] what ipad air charging / trolleys are you using?
Chrisbf1 replied to RabbieBurns's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Lapsafe everytime. With iPads I would not go for anything else apart from sync and charge with Mac. Try updating 30 iPads to ios... over wifi. firstly it will take forever, also most proxies throw a wobbly. Configurator, Mac, sync and charge trolley is the dream ticket for iPad management. -
I have been running a time lapse camera for a building project that we have going on. I now want to edit the output and puts some music to it. The output file is in .avi format. Anyone got a recomendations for free software that will help me out. Needs to be relatively easy to use, so I can show my colleagues for future projects.
