  1. Like wise, thankfully only 2 students tomorrow but have them downloaded and ready to go. We shall see what happens this time around. I feel so sorry for our candidate today, I managed to get it working with 6 minutes to spare before the windows closed. Thankfully he seemed calm and quite relaxed about it all and just got on with it - quite reassuring as he wants to be a Doctor. But, unfair to be sitting around all that time trying to get it to work for him and then expecting him to crack on at the end. Hope he does well but we've submitted our forms for mitigating circumstances. Pete
  2. Interestingly, the invigilator screen updated with the invigilator packs - and have managed to start the candidate using the HTML delivery method instead.... hopefully it'll work. 6 minutes left to get them started. Pete
  3. We've been trying both - initially just timed out, but now just get Invalid Keycode errors. 20 minutes left to start. Still no response from the helpdesk. Pete
  4. With just over 35 minutes left to start, I've yet to get our one candidate started. Still getting Invalid Keycodes. I've got 5 more attempting this tomorrow - however, even on the invigilator interface the Download Invigilator Pack button is greyed out for each candidate Pete
  5. I still can't get it started. Just Invalid Keycode. We've used this before, so don't download the exams before hand as it's always just worked (once we've got the software itself running following any updates). Only 50 minutes left to start this. Standard copy & paste responses on help desk, just get directed to voicemail when calling. Pete
  6. They were there this morning, but not on the invigilator screen now - we can see the scheduled test, but nothing is available to print keycodes when it was there this morning. Pete
  7. Still "no go" for us. Just Invalid Keycode at each attempt. Pete
  8. I'm getting a loading screen now - but has been stuck for about 10 minutes. Invigilator pages now load, but the candidate is missing from the exam we have listed for them. Oh, the joy! Pete
  9. Not sure what I can do now. Keycode not valid. Cambridge says we need to contact the BTL help desk but they're not answering and no reply to tickets yet. Very poor. Pete
  10. Keycode is now coming up as invalid. Pete
  11. This is what we're getting when trying to start the test after entering the keycode using the Secure Client. Phone lines engaged, no notice of status anywhere. Pete
  12. We're struggling to get an entrance exam started. Enter the Keycode but the client just hangs. Now getting an error that it can't connect to a specific web address. Pete
  13. We run a PowerShell script which is triggered by an Event ID of 4740 in the Security log on a DC. This e-mails us when an account gets locked and tells us where from. Useful as students here think it's funny to lock out each others accounts, so when we see a whole pile of them come in from one specific computer we can pounce on them quite quickly and get it dealt with. Pete
  14. Just something to try when we've had a few issues with Teams is to clear out the Teams Cache. Fully quit Microsoft Teams - and Outlook as well as this has a hook into Teams. Navigate to %appdata%/Microsoft Delete the Teams Folder.Restart Teams. If it's happening for all your users, then that's something else. Pete
  15. Oh, the fun I've had with this other the years with different versions locating themselves in different folders! Currently use a Powershell script to remove the old version and install the new version as have had issues in the past with it not updating or running correctly. We use a deployment system to run the script where it's required on the machines, but it's just a Powershell script. Remove-Item -LiteralPath "C:\Users\Public\Surpass" -Force -Recurse $msbuild = "\\LOCATION-OF-MSI\SecureClientInstaller.msi" $arguments = "/qn" Start-Process $msbuild $arguments Pete
  16. What will help, is having Conditional Multi-Factor Authentication. So, if they are on the work network they won't get Authenticator requests, but outside the network they will. Best of both worlds. The only thing is, for this your need the P1 license with Microsoft365 to use this. I had very little push back when I introduced it for all staff and most people accepted the situation.... security or convenience, pick one. Pete
  17. You were more than likely looking at the 'Tap' solution which appears to be based on whatever flavour you use and then purchase. We have ours setup with a Windows PC running Teams. Have a remote wireless Keyboard and Mouse combo attached to it also so can be just used for teaching if need be. We then setup the 'Desk Hub' on the central desks with a couple of daisy chained mic pods for when it's booked for a VC. Pete
  18. Just setup a Sharp 75" Screen with a Logitech Rally Plus system for our library that gets used for meetings, governors, etc. Proving very popular so far - impressive kit - tad pricey though. Pete
  19. Thanks all for the replies. It's promising to hear that. I'm essentially installing all UniFi Switches (Gen2) and 13 x NanoHD's across their site while getting their fibre backbone replaced along with cabinet upgrades. Hoping it all goes well - I'm a bit twitchy about it all to say the least. Pete
  20. Anybody want to give an opinion of the latest release? I'm about to start kitting out a primary school with UniFi Switches and APs across their site and wondering if to go with the latest and greatest on the WAPs, or have them run at 4.3.21 ? Pete
  21. It would appear that Konica have got Toner Supply issues following a fire at their factory in Japan: Konica Minolta explosion impacts toner supply | Printweek We've got the automatic ordering which normally keeps things topped for us, but noticed that we're not getting certain toners in now, primarily Black. Our resources technician is now not able to do any printing as her beast of a machine has used up the last of its Black toner (TN-514K if anybody has got any). She's in the middle of doing the Pre-App exam papers and has now resorted to using other lesser machines around the site. Not Brexit, not the Pandemic, nor the HGV shortage, can't be fuel crisis either but down to one fire at one factory! I can see the queues of 'panic printers' around our site now! Pete
  22. I had this. I just ran the installer 'Run as Administrator' and that resolved the issue. Pete
  23. I'm just about to kit out a Primary School with 13 NanoHD's, so threads like me do have me worried somewhat. Pete
  24. ProCurve primarily with Aruba here and there as we added to the network. All rock solid stuff, although I have had a number of Power Supply Failures recently on 8 Port Aruba switches that have the external power bricks. All replaced relatively quickly under warranty, but some supply issues means some stuff is taking longer. Pete
  25. I've used these guys a while back... www.ultratec.co.uk Pete
