You could use Guacamole to do RDP over HTML. I assume you want to access the SIMS application running on a Windows desktop?

We use Xirrus and application control here and it works very well. I like being able to identify VPN traffic from users. It does cost though. Bang for buck I'd be hard pressed to recommend anyone else other than Ubiquiti. Let me know if you'd like to know any more.

We are a CMIS school and have had exactly the same problem. SMHW insisting that it is us at fault.

You don't need a script. Replace the computer. If needed, inform the user that you are upgrading their device. If this person is an extra special snowflake tell them you are doing it to "protect the children" or for "esafety reasons". If you want, you can cover my travel costs and I will come up and do it.

Here you go: Joking aside, for inventory and patching you can use the free versions of PDQ Deploy and PDQ Inventory. For remote management, maybe system center if it is included in your licencing agreement? A bit overkill but has basic remote control stuff built in.

I used GBICS.COM for my 2920 compatible GBICs. Works a treat and saved a tonne of money.

Hi, Thought people considering using Linux to start replacing Windows might like to check out this Debian based product- https://www.univention.com/ Their software can integrate with a Windows domain or replace it entirely. It solves alot of the issues around Linux admin for Windows techs - Web based GUI, Imaging, Radius, Desired state config, SSO for other applications. They aim it at SMB's and education and it is priced accordingly. I have used the free version for a number of years and am happy to answer questions.

So can Puppet, with chocolately package management it works really well for desired state configuration on Windows.

We have most of those issues too (log on users works okay here) - and the same response from Impero. It's always going to be "the next version". Every month I have to go and sort the .ilog file out otherwise we will lose log data. If you find a suitable alternative would you mind letting us know on here so we can check it out?

When you access by hostname, are you using the fqdn? If not can you try it?

Good luck with that! I am a big OSS fan, however Moodle just rubs me the wrong way. We use Moodle as our Intranet page, but am looking into Office 365 Sharepoint.

We have just finished a deployment with over 40 of these APs. We have had some issues with auto channelling and the 2.4GHz radios, however a manual channel/power setup and firmware updates seems to have cured it. My advice would be to get a trial in.
