No, when the NHS was hit they were running Windows XP which was out of support and they had failed to renew their agreement with Microsoft for additional security patches.
-
Then that will work - the switch acts as a dumb one just passing data without the controller being needed at all.
-
Are you wanting to make use of any of the managed features? If not and it's just to act as a switch between hosts without vLANs in the mix etc then the Unifi switch will do that out of the box without management.

No you can control this - have you been into vault as the UI is quite clear.
-
Because you set a data retention policy and control how long files that have been deleted are kept - this is not against GDPR.
-
Vault is GDPR compliant - why do you think it isn't?
-
What is the rationale for disabling vault? If staff are using G Suite to communicate with students then you would need to have an alternative to vault to retrieve emails if they are deleted in case of any allegations etc.
-
They're usually pretty good.

Log a ticket with Google support and ask them to look at it?
-
In Gmail when you choose show original does it show SPF status etc?

Obviously there are further potential issues than the APs themselves but replacing 802.11n with 802.11ac seems reasonable and getting best value is not a nice to have - it's a fundamental requirement and moral obligation. It also doesn't take very long at all! Perhaps he should just accept the first quote he gets?
-
Sorry I edited it as you were posting - 4Gon.
-
When bought in a large quantity (circa 100) we paid £88 per UAP-AC-Pro in 5 packs. That's from 4Gon.
-
What are you ordering and what have you been quoted?
-
There are multiple UK distributors but their website pricing may be quite different to their quote pricing - particularly if you're making a big order. Their top tier distributors and master resellers for the UK are 4Gon, BroadbandBuyer.com, LinITX and MS Distribution - no one else will be able to beat their pricing in my experience as they seem to supply all the others.

So as @localzuk says you could stick in a top of rack 16 port 10Gb Unifi switch and uplink via that.

NetSupport DNA : Anyone run it with full SQL?
Primus replied to fiza's topic in Network and Classroom Management
This! When purchased DNA should come with everything necessary and I'm grateful for your response Al but at no point has anyone ever mentioned needing a full SQL licence to me other than recently when we started having issues. -

I still think you need to be much more upfront when selling your product - none of this is mentioned and we're an average sized school that repeatedly hits the maximum and never seem to manage to clear it down enough to make it go more than a month without hitting the issue again. When I buy a full on commercial product I expect it to include everything necessary to run said product in the scale your marketing materials sell it at. Long story short selling a product that is hamstrung by SQL Express and only being forthcoming on these limitations when users experience issues is incredibly poor customer service. We also have a major issue with slowness of our DNA console and recent support experiences have been like pulling teeth with people not getting back to us etc. Tagging @Al_NetSupport -

Yup feeling this pain too - quite annoyed with NetSupport - when you pay for a product you don't then expect to have to purchase additional products to support it! -
Play MSDist and 4gon off against each other - they'll beat each other's prices and save you some cash.

You may be thinking of the older APs - the Nano is new and has always supported 802.3af
-
The Nano uses 802.3af so won't need an injector?
-
I think it's more that encryption thrashes the drive and exposes hidden underlying faults that would have eventually come to light but do far sooner because of this.
-
Not in the Leeds area but close to 100 APs - we use RADIUS and have none of those issues listed above.
