Ours is pretty simple. I knocked up a one-pager in Dreamweaver, split into three columns: Left side is a BBC UK news headlines feed Middle is a Google safesearch-enforced search box with some handy reference sites underneath (wikipedia, dictionary.com, BBC Bytesize) Right side is local/school news and quizzes that i update once a week(ish) Run from IIS on 2k3.

This might be fun. What would you choose to have played at your funeral? One song. Go.

Good ol' Grampa Simpson! (apart from the typos)

Yep. And at the same time, i'm looking forward to an absolute humdinger of a Champions League final with two English teams up for the gold. Should be a stonker. I'll be enjoying the game, not burning St. George flags. Edit: Oh yeah, and rugby is wank

Pah! If we're talking about songs that get stuck in your head, try this: kenya - Weebl's Stuff If you're not still singing this by 5pm, there's something wrong with you

Keyboard needing a good clean? Sounds like it may be sticking. Failing that, might be a 'sticky keys' or other accessibility thing? Weird.

Yep, done that plenty times Could also add a meta refresh to redirect. Cheesy, but an option.

Anyone have any experience with purchasing telecoms?
Ryan replied to Disease's topic in How do you do....it?
Drop me a PM if you want to discuss this in more detail, dude. I can give you more info about the process, and the system, if it'll help. (Dunno how much use it'll be to others. If anyone expresses an interest, we can have this discussion in public, a bit like a low-rent Jerry Springer, if there is such a thing...) -

We installed a nice new Avaya system (IP Office) late last year and it's been regularly kicking the arse out of the old BT system we had. We get: Full reporting down to extensions, dates, can look up numbers (dialled and incoming), generates reports based on time and expense, etc etc Complete control over extensions and numbering. Previously we had to get a BT engineer out. I can do it all from here now in seconds. If a phone extension dies (has happened already), we can patch a handset into a vacant network port and straight into the system. The full complement of voicemail, remote access to voicemail, call waiting, call barring, call parking, DND, forwarding... - didn't have any of this before. BT tendered for an upgrade at the time but it was, in hindsight, utter toilet. More details on any of this available on request! -
What has the internet ever done to her? Why does she want to put Publisher code on the net? That's just mean... I try and avoid the program, but are you not able to edit the links to be relative to the parent document? I'd give her Notepad as punishment. Or if you have Dreamweaver somewhere in the school, open it in that and clean it up. Hell, send it to me and i'll do it.

Ahh, i love Calvin & Hobbes comic strips. Suggest you all check them out if you found that vaguely amusing. Sadly that's been edited 'cos there's no swearing in it - it's all very innocent

Nicely self-troubleshot that man

They use it on the radio, i don't see why not. We're all adults here. Physically, at least

You gonna actually work during the day now?

Can't use absolute positioning in that case. Do you want the smaller DIV to be a certain distance from the right of the container DIV and stay there, regardless of the width of the container?

A man is cupping his hand to scoop water from a Highland burn. The gamekeeper shouts, "Dinnae drink thon water min, it's foo o' coo's sh*te n p*sh." The man replies, "My good fellow, I'm English.... repeat that in English." The gamekeeper replies, "I said use both hands - you get more that way." Don't shoot the messenger, i just ctrl+v! *runs off*

Blur studios are awesome. They have Rock Fish on the way, should be uber. This:Rockfish is the original short, and it's being made into a feature length movie, with Vin Diesel on vocal duties. Should be oot soon.

I use a bootable linux floppy, worth its weight in gold for getting into older machines I won't pretend to know or like *nix, but it walks you through it with idiot-proof instructions. I can send if need be, but one of the above should doodle-do the job.

*shamelessly resurrects old thread* I have an issue with one or two machines not picking up updates from WSUS. They were existing machines that were reformatted. Will this script sort that, or are there other things is should so to ensure they appear in WSUS Admin and get updates properly? thx

Some movies HAVE to be seen in the cinema. Yes, we've all had noisy little tw*ts spoil it, but it's satisfying gaping at the monster screen and enjoying the arse-jangling sound of a big blockbuster. I tend to rate movies in 3 easy categories - Cinema, DVD, or download I deliberately didn't download 300 so i could go and enjoy it in all its glory at the cinema.
