  1. I'd love to know how to do this but to be honest its well above my knowledge. Can anyone give me help on how o would go about setting this up so i could test it.
  2. Select the Public Folder in your own Outlook and start creating the suitable view for it. 1. Select the folder 2. From the menu select View - Define Views 3. Select New and select This folder, Visible to everyone 4. Modify the view 5. Give the name to that view 6. Press the Publish button When you have done it, right click over the Public Folder and select properties. 1. Select the Administration -tab 2. From the Initial view on Folder select the view you just created Hope this helps, I can't try it as i do not have access to a Exchange box where i work.
  3. I, like so many others visit the forums at least a couple of times a day and most weekends. I read all topics, some more in depth than others. I also find myself reading about problems and solutions that people have and find that i know in the not too distant future are going to affect me as well. Is there anyway of bookmarking certain topics that i know will come to affect me? or like having a favourites style approach. I know people will say just use the 'search' function but i just wondered if anyone knew of anything.
  4. It looks very good but the majority of school i visit all use exchange so i need to concentrate on that at the mo.. but thanks for the tip.
  5. Are many of you watching these podcast? I must admit i have found them very useful so far but have loads to watch yet and not enough time.
  6. Just wondered if anyone knew what has happened to this site? I can no longer seem to get on to this site anymore. It was never as good as Edugeek but it did have the odd good post worth reading and participating in. Any one know?
  7. Had not thought that far ahead yet, but if i do i think i'm going to need a lotof help.......... ;-)
  8. I have been trying to install Exchange server tonight on my test network. I have two DC in my domain that replicate DNS. I have had a lot of trouble and now know what a lot of you mean by "Check DNS" this caused me a load of grief when i ran DCDIAG. I got the DNS sorted and replication and then i had a system log error in DCDIAG. I cant believe that because their were past errors in the Event viewer>System log that DCDIAG fails. As soon as i cleared the lot DCDIAG ran fine. Big learning curve for me. I'm gonna have to stay up now till it finishes installing :-)
  9. 1. When the thin client connects to the server 2003 through RDP, when the user logs on does it pull down all the GPO policies as if they were logging on to a FAT XP machine? 2. If the above answer is yes, do it also map the drives succesfully ie. H:hone drive? 3. Does it also map any printers that aredone through scripts in the GP?
  10. Will WDS make it easier to work with ThinCLient booting?
  11. I too have been trying to test this over the last week or so (when i get chance) and this is a question that has crossed my mind. I have not real networking skills so could you help me out here. In no geeky terms could you please explain your solution as simple as possible please?
  12. One of the primary schools i go to has asked about moving away from a RM 2003/Xp network to a standard vanilla network. Has anyone done this? What are the issues/implications of this? Pros and Cons? What would they want to do this?
  13. Dell all the way here.
  14. Any chance of an idiots guide to doing this as i know nothing about configuring switches.
  15. Any sort of timescale for v2.0 ?

  19. I think this has been covered many times but i can't seem to find older posts when i search, Is there a way to stop kids from running exe files from the usb keys they bring into school? We don't want to ban them altogether but wondered if there is away to stop this. Sorry if this has been answered before but i can't find it.
  20. Straight from the horses mouth.
  21. Surely some of you Thin Client Gurus have come across this?
  22. Some of the schools i go to set their pupils a mandatory profile, i presume the GPO install and settings wont work then. IT would mean a update of the profile as mentioned earlier?
  23. I have quite a lot of spam email come to one of my email accounts in Outlook Express. I know i can add them to the BLock Senders list but i only seem to be able to block these one at a time. Some days i can have up to 20 spam emails and i wondered if there is a way to add these to the Block Senders list all at once. I have Googled and can't seem to find any info about this? Does any one have any ideas/suggestions?
  24. IF you go to Network Neighbourhood>Entire Network and you can see all the computers currently switched/logged onto the domain. What i have found is that this is sometimes not in real time. I know if i shut a room full of PCs down with a script it can take ages/up to an hour before they are removed from Network Neighbourhood>Entire Network. Does anyone know why this is or if there is a quick way to refresh this so it only shows machines that are really on/live?
  25. Has anyone deployed a XP theme to XP computers through GPO. I want to try and put the Zune Theme onto certain computer rooms in our domain. I know the theme comes as a msi package and i know how t deploy this through GPO. What i am not sure about is how ti configures itself if you deploy it. Has anyone ever deployed a theme to domain PCs? If so can you just deploy it and when the PC logs on it automatically gets the them or do you have to do some sort of MST file?
