  1. Considering there are a whole raft of keys on my KB that I don't use (except by accident) I really don't see the point. Anyone remember when gimmiky keyboards (especially Microsoft keyboards) came with things like shortcuts to Internet Explorer, Media Player etc? I never used those either.
  2. It also looks like the baby is driving the mother!
  3. Could be done by AI, judging by some of the AI generated photos I've seen.
  4. I want to know how teaspoons change from one type to another. For example, you could buy a pack of 8 new teaspoons and put them in your cutlery drawer. Within three months, at least 4 will have developed designs and shapes different from their siblings. And breed.
  5. Pretty much the same around here regarding the water table. I think it's rained at least once each day for the past three weeks. Everywhere is sodden and with no capacity for it to retain more.
  6. Editing your job title now to fit in with our guidelines here (and if you know the wage, it would help greatly in attracting applicants) - /forums/educational-jobs/50399-how-use-jobs-forum-please-read-first.html
  7. You had to make your own flood defences?!
  8. I do have to ask if storms like that are common in the south. Up here, we use them as a way of evolving weak trees out of the environment
  9. Just making sure that our more southerly members are ok after last nights storm. Or are the roofs off your schools and your sever room flooded? *For once, we in the north escaped the foul weather (it was a rather still, mild evening here in Preston), and I didn't even realise there was a storm until this morning and looking at the news.
  10. Ah, not this then?
  11. It's certainly one to be wary of and avoided if at all possible!
  12. I had that when I was 23, it almost killed me (misdiagnosed)! I've just spent the entire Xmas period quite bad with the horrible cold that is doing the rounds - https://uk.news.yahoo.com/warning-over-brutal-cold-spreading-082320290.html?guccounter=1 - and have lost my voice I was coughing so much. I'm on the mend now, but still have the cough and fatigue. Honestly, I thought covid was better than this! The only benefit it has is that this one has passed its worst point after a few days. Has anyone else caught this one yet?
  13. Happy new year everyone. And the sun is out!
  14. Happy Christmas all
  15. I was in there two days ago. Can't say I noticed It does look cheap though.

  18. He fell out with Fleetway over who owned the rights to Halo sadly. It was always my dream that following a EuroMillions win I'd buy the rights and give them to Moore under the proviso he finishes the story. There is an interview with Neil Gaiman on YouTube somewhere where he tells of his meeting Moore and he told him how the story would have panned out in the 6 remaining installments. One of the great 'what-ifs'.
  19. I'm rather sad about this. The comic artist Ian Gibson passed away yesterday af age 77. He was a staple of the early days of 2000ad and I had always had a hope that Alan Moore would somehow finish the Halo Jones story with him as the artist. A great loss to the comic industry. You can see a very good example of his work on Halo Jones (a highly recommended read if you haven't seen it yet) here - Final Frames: Halo Jones Anybody
  20. I'd want the framed versions I'm afraid, and I may just treat myself after Christmas - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/235247459081?hash=item36c5d75b09:g:N7IAAOSwmndlI~73&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA0DAd%2FRV4LpSHY7vqmzPPY%2FYtWUqvrPC86zxkmIelq7ZM%2Brk90my7z%2BwCXmpY2CLaHt91PKoZxU8QMblFODF8SfH7Ccp%2F6FO7W3a%2B7kUAffrf4o9nTgfvpsKj5LW7oLnjpu6MrWBlnPilETx1puGKl5eCPR72wjOMMtyT0gHWOuUup1bC%2B9CWvYUUH0yWkmn8vrz5tmfPmiylcIl135%2B8mzD0OZW7gN5KMpcuzlCUD7RrWl%2F8TSsOH5NHjF2l9ERPzu%2F8IzrCNF4gd1%2BAB6yLmE8%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR6qI4buMYw
  21. No problem I collect 80's home computers, and am working backwards regarding consoles. I picked up a PS 1, 2 and 3 (all working) for £45 at an auction earlier this year. None boxed sadly, but all playable! I just wish I'd had the nous to pick up all the 80's computers and 90's consoles before retro-gaming became a big thing and they were being sold for pennies. Still, it's nice to see that these machines go to good homes and are looked after for future players\collectors.
  22. Possibly, what do you have? I mainly collect 80's home computers, so if you have an Oric, I could very well be persuaded if the price is right
  23. TBH, it would be useless without it. I collect retro tech (home computers and consoles) and wouldn't consider buying something that wasn't 100% working or in a condition which could make it workable. Most other collectors are the same too AFAIK.
  24. This popped up on one of my news feeds (got the link from that) this morning - https://stadia.google.com/controller/index_en_US.html Essentially, Google is to kill the Stadia online service on the 31st Dec, but of you'd still like to use your controller with other consoles\devices, then you can switch on bluetooth mode via the link.
  25. Following from my going to see the rather wonderful Tokyo Godfathers with my son last week (I thought it was going to be about the Yakuza!), it got me thinking that there must be a lot of films out there that we may not be aware of, or, whilst not set at Christmas, at least have a Christmassy feel about them that may have passed us by. To kick us off then, I'll give us the aforementioned Tokyo Godfathers and my seasonal fave, Local Hero. It's not a Christmas film, but is pleasingly soul warming for the season
