I wasn't in my right mind I had manually installed the Service Pack on a few PCs/Notebooks without any issues so I figured it was safe... bah

Just a word of warning to everyone out there, our WSUS server has started pushing out Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 and since then we've had a number of machine bomb out after rebooting. Black screen with the Windows logo and the words: "Fatal error C0000034 applying update operation 282 of 117950 (_00000...)" So far I've had to re-image 12 machines (luckily no real loss/damage yet! ... NOT looking forward to tomorrow morning tho!)

We're using Zendesk - a bit expensive but a nice look & feel.

I don't need to sysprep, I setup everything using a normal account, copy the profile overwriting the default profile and then Ghost handles the removing and rejoining of the domain.

Hello all I'm not sure if this should go in the Windows 7 forum or the Server 2008 forum? Is there a Group Policy setting or something similar that will allow Windows 7 to automatically activate itself when a non-admin is logged on? I still use Ghost to clone all our machines and during the image creation process, I enter the key and activate the machine, however, after cloning the image to a lab, none of the lab machines are activated anymore (but they still have the key entered) - I then have to log onto each machine and manually activate it because it will not happen unless an Administrator does it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

As far as I know, the ability to print a username/other data onto a printout via Papercut only works on PS based printers, not PCL

I use this: Batch Picture Resize Brilliant little program, resizes based on the name of the executable and there is a filename generator on the page. For example: PhotoResize140Q100.exe will resize any photos you drag and drop onto it to 140px (tall or wide, based on the longest edge) with 100 Quality.

Hi everyone, I've got a MS TMG 2010 server running as our main proxy server and have noticed that more and more frequently, the daily usage reports I am generating are coming up blank. Does anybody know what could be causing this? Every report from the last 8 days is blank which is a pain in the *** because somebody has been hammering the internet recently and I was hoping to find the little... darling.

There were a lot of big words that confused me in the post above, so I hope this isn't completely off topic: We use Google Apps to provide our staff with Email/Docs/Talk/Calendars etc... I am currently setting up Directory Sync so our Active Directory sync's with our Google Apps accounts and then we use Google Apps as an OpenID provider for other services like Moodle/Joomla etc... So in theory it's only one username/password so long as the software uses OpenID?

Hello everyone I don't know if I'm being ridiculously stupid, but I'm trying to create a batch file which I will schedule to run every 24 hours which will delete all instances of desktop.ini from the server which has all the redirected home folders. The code I'm using is: D: CD\ CD "Home Folders" del /S /Q "desktop.ini" The /S is supposed to have it search sub-directories, but when I run it, all I get is: D:\Home Folders>del /S /Q "desktop.ini" Could Not Find D:\Home Folders\desktop.ini It's like it's ignoring the /s command? The server is running Server 2008 SP2, could this have anything to do with it? Thanks!!

Hi Guys, Sorry to hijack this thread and bring it back to life, but I'm now faced with the same problem of having to redesign one of our labs. Having read through everything you've said so far, you all seem to prefer the horseshoe shaped setups. Would any of you be able to post some pictures of how your labs are setup so I can show them to our head please? I'm also looking for suggestions that I may not have thought of, so far I have things like: - Mount the power cables & Plugs under the desks so there are no power cables down by students feet - Ditto for the network cabling - We're probably getting All-in-One units (PC & Screen in one) so I need to make sure the desk is @ the right height for viewing and sitting. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The frontpage is working fine, displaying as it should with 8 items. This "High School" section is supposed to display in exactly the same format but it's just putting all the articles down the left. It should be going: 1 2 3 4 5 6 But instead it's going: 1 2 3 4 and if I point the menu item to a different section, with exactly the same display settings, it then displays correctly.

Hello everyone, I'm having a problem with a menu item not displaying properly and I'm hoping somebody here might be able to help me It's set to be a category blog layout, with 0 Leading articles, 10 Intro articles, 2 columns and 0 links. It is also set to go across for the multi column order. When the page loads it loads all articles in the left hand column and nothing in the right, as per the picture: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7789305/high_school_layout.png I assumed it was a problem with the menu, so I created a new menu item and it did exactly the same thing. I then pointed the menu item (with the same settings) to a different Category and it worked like it's supposed to (2 columns of articles). What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Be warned, I had to reset my phone to get it working again - but it is definitely Android 2.2 now.

My HTC Desire has just done an OTA Update and I think it's Froyo, however, as soon as the update finished, I started getting the: Sorry! The Application HTC Sense (process com.htc.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please Try Again. Error Loop, I'm busy finding a fix now, so just a warning to those that also have this phone.

Hello everyone We've just received 5 HP T5545 Linux Thin Clients to test out and they seem to be working fairly well. I've setup a server running Server 2008 and everything seems pretty snappy... BUT... I have some questions that I would really appreciate your input on: 1) USB redirection doesn't work for flashdisks - There is a patch available from HP but this only seems to be for Windows Server 2003. Is there no way of redirecting to Server 2008? 2) I was playing around with the different modes (full desktop, kiosk and no desktop) and have set one of them to no desktop, how would I not change that if I wanted to change the RDP settings? Thanks!
