After reading your post again I see your dilemma, and I have NO idea how to resolve it, short of restoring to HDD on the system then running bkp exec again and seeing if it will pick up the bkf files. You could try it on a spare system if you have one, even then I do not hold out much hope that you will get your files back.

This is what you have done....I Think. You have backed up the files on the machine. You have then backed to tape the folder that you backed the files up with. You have restored the back up from tape so all you are left with is the BKF files that you backed up to tape because thats all you backed up was the bkf files and not the actual files. You did a back up of the back up files, thats why Veritas will not find any files or restore them, its restores the backup to disk folder. Why did you not just back the files to the tape drive using veritas instead of going to a folder and then backing up that folder to tape. I really do not see anyway to resolve your situation unless you can get Veritas to recognise the BKF files.

Saying that though, I just applied a change to the whole of year 11 to give them unlimited printing for the ?mock exam and it destriyed their entries in the database. I managed to resolve it after an hour trying to figure out why they could not print and deleted their account from PMP and re-added them. So careful if you make a big change to a year group it could screw the data for them. Version 6.0.0.115

MY LEA are unable to block effectively because they are stupid. Example: You ask them to block say worldofwarcraft.com So they block http://www.worldofwarcraft.com leaving open http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com and http://www.worldofwarcraft.co.uk and .net and .fr. I tell them on many occassions to try blocking using * but they still do not get it. So now we bock via our own ISA server. They really really are poor.

After speaking with my SLA supplier we will be getting the Enterprise version FOC. Not sure when I will install it though.

We have pupil acces and Staff Access, both are heavily restricted, the only exceptions there are is that the Head of IT can Change passwords only and has access to the Kids User Areas. If anyone can linky for me to the section on Data Protection that is violated by allowing staff access to the kids User Areas I would be interested.
