Hard to say. I had a report from a department and looked into with Message tracing and one email had never come in and the other was found once I gave them exact subject and date/time. Until a massive flaw is found I'm going to take message flow as gospel.

I think what this highlights what a lot of us have said for a while. There is an ever greater need for a top level IT person that isn't front line, who mostly deals with long term, strategy and policy not just having it as another line on the job description. Trying to do all of that and understand deep level things like KCSIE is not possible while also answering a phone and being interrupted with password resets.

Sounds like £225 is their engineer cost for a block of time. Had similar with another web development company. Anything above a certain level was the same price, even if you know it would take 5 minutes or 3 hours. If that is their price then they should have made that clear when engaging them and whoever signed on the dotted line needs to read more carefully. As others have said, if the feature isn't useful or costs too much, turn it off.

That would explain 3s rush to get business customers to bulk up their offering, at ridiculous low prices. Although saying that, this has been swirling around for a good 9ish months.

I'm afraid it is one of those things, it means what you want it to. The purest form is to have the bare minimum of resources on site. So this could be just network infrastructure or a couple of servers for network services. What most have done is moved file servers (home drives into OneDrive and Shared drives into SharePoint/Teams) and email to the cloud and try to go with cloud first for new resources and systems. So a cloud based MIS for instance. Don't have a migration plan sorry as all the ones I have done have been a bit ad-hoc and fluid. Basically give your self a lot of time, take it slow and give people plenty of warning. For example, shared areas I would set up the new area and tell staff they need to get resources transferred. After a year lock the old area to read only and tell staff they have one year to retrieve anything they need. Turn off the area after the year and keep for another year. Takes a while but makes sure nothing important is left behind and staff don't feel rushed.

Try Mail Tester. You send an email to specific, unique address and it reads the header and lets you know of issues. It is more for testing newsletters so will moan about lack of content, but you can ignore that. If you can get a hold of the headers from a failing email then you can use MXToolbox to look at the headers and tell you what is being reported for SPF, DKIM and DMARC.

As an update, I found that our issue was actually that the Start Menu shortcut is specially crafted and I think contains the server address. The user was running it from the task bar after it was pinned and that was what was failing. This may be a different version as it looks like this is the History papers and uses a different interface than then other AQA papers!

Interestingly I just had to deal with this. Installation went fine, with admin credentials, but it stopped working last night. After contacting their support who said it has to have admin rights, no ifs no buts, I ran the program as an admin, logged in as the teacher, then ran the program as normal and whatever the issue was went away. I think either an update was causing issues or there is a time limit for check-in.

Could this be part of the changes that is closing of API access unless the developer stumps up cash? I'm not sure Microsoft's stance on that but I don't imagine they will want to pay Twitter. It might not have come in yet but I know various developers have been discussing the implications to their systems.

I'd say the best way is to try and get information from places it already is, rather than getting staff to enter or create information. So pull in from calendar, external systems, MIS, social media, etc. Even better if you can set a single point of 'truth'. That way you get fresh content with minimal effort. Sites that offer daily/weekly content are great if you can get the content into Xibo. You then only have to create special content for events or one off information.

Currently using a VLAN per category of device, clumped by location. At a previous place we also did PCs by building, but everything else was across the site. As Mavhc says, base it on what you are trying to prevent, achieve or reduce. If 'noisy' Macs or printers are an issue, VLAN them. If unnecessary inter-building traffic is an issue then VLAN the buildings. Whether 60 VLANs is lots depends on size of the site/estate and how it is divided up.

The issue I see here is that AI is like a toddler. Don't like the instructions? Scream at the one giving them. Get told that is bad? Prevent the instructions getting through by effectively putting fingers in ears and singing "la la la la"! I can marvel at the reasoning and ingenuity but I would not give a toddler a hellfire.

I'm really torn on Citadel. It had a really good mix, interesting cast but seemed to fall flat. I'm hoping it was just pilot-itis as that really was an extended pilot really.

Interesting I've been thinking the same, my other half likes to road bike but I grew up being a mountain biker (nothing extreme just off road) and want to have the ability to do that still. Same as you, see a path and follow it (regs permitting obviously). Though I have now found out that there are hybrid bikes, as well as gravel bikes, so well and truly confused!!

Not wanting to sound like a stuck record but the IAMCloud next gen client has been expected to be released very soon for the last 5 years, if not longer.

To those using Papercut Print Deploy, is that to domain machines or Intune? We keep getting a permissions issue for staff so the printer won't deploy. Manually it works, but fails for print deploy. Very odd.

Have you checked there isn't a second reservation or on the machine an IP is set?

Depends on what you want and what you want to spend. You can set up Xibo locally for free and use what ever you have as clients. It isn't what I would call user friendly though, so you could end up having to update it. Trilby TV is nice and simple and could be extended to give other information. Any HTTPS URL that doesn't need authentication can be displayed. Uniguest have solutions that can tie into your EPOS (if you have one) to update the menu automatically. Then you have home made systems like using Google Slides and pushing that out as a kiosk to a ChromeStick or Chrome browser.

Having had a look, it is the same quarantined area, so you could put a link to it and ask staff to check themselves in the notification email. Otherwise, as long as you have a quarantine policy setup, it will appear in their normal notification.

So in security.microsoft.com go to Policies & rules > Threat policies > Quarantine policy. You can then create policies for different things and set what access they have and what notification they get. Then in Policies & rules > Threat Policies you can create a policy for each category and assign a quarantine policy. EDIT: Ahh, sorry, didn't read properly and see that it is custom rules you were talking about. As far as I am aware, as long as the rule sends it to quarantine then the quarantine rules apply.

There should be a policy that sets what users can, and can't, do. I think the options are just be informed, view, and release. I'll have a poke around and see if I can find it as I never remember where stuff is in the portal now.
