  1. Yeah, this. I used Timetabler to get the timetable ready to import to our MIS and managed to taught myself, but I could see there was a lot there I had no understanding of at all. Get the training, we got a consultant in to train the person who did the timetable and it was really good and helpful, with lots of tips and tricks on actual timetabling. Pays off in the long run.
  2. Just tried and if all users in the queue are on a call then it goes to VM, so they wouldn't be able to pick up. This doesn't feel right so I wonder if I have something setup wrong but I can't see anything obvious.
  3. You have to have a way to get it there, but we use Wasabi through AutoData. They charge £5.99 per TB per month, minimum of 5 TBs, so £29.95 per month. We use Veeam and it is seamless.
  4. Usually, I have it set that it will ring a group of phones, or cascade through a list of phones. I have the app on my computer so if I have to pick up from the queue I use the GUI. I'm the only one that needs this though. Is there a specific case where you don't want it to ring but want someone to grab the call?
  5. That is exactly how I like to picture it in my head Though I do have to set the Qi buzzer off and bring the esteemed Tom Scott in
  6. Never know how true it is but there is the story that the various invading forces went round to the locals and asked what something was called. Either malicious compliance or playing silly beggars the locals told them exactly what it was, a river, or a wood. So, we have many places that translate to exactly what they are. Another good one is J Darper's "What do all the Tube Stations names mean." series. Such as Bakerloo line
  7. Does Sophos just cut the banned pupils off completely? On Smoothwall banned pupils are just a group that you can assign, or block, against. This allows you to create effectively a walled garden that the little scallywags have to play in. We have allowed M365 services but banned everything else for them.
  8. I'd disagree with the second part. With something like Power Bi, or any other dashboard style system, the user or consumer (leadership) of the data shouldn't need upskilling, they just need to know what they want to see and be presented with it. The only training will be how the interface works or how to navigate to the different views. Whoever is implementing or creating the dashboards will need upskilling and then run the process of discovery to find out what views are wanted.
  9. Not had any issues. Not done a full blown 1:1 offering yet, currently we are using them to offer devices to parents, and the associated rental/payment scheme and insurance. Really responsive though. The only issue is that their insurance (last I looked) has a £50 excess, whereas the other scheme we used was no strings attached. @jnfarmer has used them for a full rollout I think.
  10. I have a complaint, @Koldov is inflating his post count!!! Send him to the naughty step!
  11. May I be the first to say... ahem N00B!!!!
  12. Do you have an NPS server? Could a certificate have gone out of date? There is a tickle in the back of my brain of an update that previously killed NPS somehow but I thought that was all dealt with. I can't remember anymore though sorry

    Gaming Chat

Ohhh I saw the ad for that recently. I'm hoping it comes out on GamePass so I can have a crack at it. Loved the other two, the only issue I have is that they just get a bit repetitive. Supposedly Museum has a bit of a different mechanic, so would be interesting how you find it.
  14. Just to note, not sure how advisable it is but the MFA setup code works for MS Authenticator too. It isn't exclusive to Google Authenticator.
  15. Yeah top job guys. Upgrade on an IT Tech forum mus rank slightly worse than teaching teachers :D
  16. I'd forgotten Planet e-Stream signage. That was pretty damned good too. Would be happy to go back to that as well.
  17. I was trying to give the benefit of the doubt and stimulate conversation as I hate the trick of dropping a link saying something is really interesting but giving no context or actual opinion. I was attempting to be polite and inclusive but as no response has been forthcoming I will let rip. The post feels like a generic marketing post to generate clicks, which I don't feel is appropriate on a professional forum and would consider it bordering on spam. May as well go all in and be open and honest, the article is fluff and generic, I wouldn't even pass it on to teaching or office staff as I would say a lot of the article is just wrong and actually perpetuating the myths it claims to be debunking. It isn't even a starter article, it feels like padding, probably generated by AI, to try and garner SEO points for being an authority in an area. It is beneath this forum and one step away from having posts "12 ways how intune can help your network. Number 7 will shock you!!!!!". Though I may just be p***y today.
  18. Can I ask you what you found really interesting about it?
  19. AccessIT and LibreSoft are the two main candidates.
  20. How does that sit with T&Cs of those services and copyright?
  21. I think I am setting my expectations to it is a pretty, visual film, with interesting concepts and there may be a story there. That way I can't be too disappointed
  22. You can use supervised chats to allow chat between pupils and staff, but not between pupils. With just policies, the teacher would be able to start a chat but a pupil would not be able to start a chat with the teacher.
  23. We use BoxPhish, through @Net-Ctrl. Includes quick bite-sized training as well, which I feel balances out the simulations. Great reporting as well, so you can see who is (or is not) doing what. Could it be one of your systems is following the link to test for nasties? When we setup BoxPhish there were instructions how to add the service to Exchange to stop it being blocked or scanned, leading to false results. In theory best practice is not to forward potential phishing emails as it spreads the risk, even if it is to the IT department. BoxPhish does also come with an Outlook plugin (web and app) that allows reporting with the attached headers and code, rather than the whole email.
  24. Totally agree. We have just recently started a software register from the point of view of what data is where (data register I think it is) and what DPIAs we have or need. Hadn't linked the two with licensing though.
  25. Generally, we make the 'owner' of the software the head of Department that uses it. It is up to them to renew and ensure the software is still needed. If it is cross school software, then I have it setup in the contracts section of our Helpdesk to create a ticket 90 days before the renewal. That is my cue to check if the software is still needed and used, what the renewal will be and if we have the right number of licenses. New software requests are a service request in the helpdesk service catalogue that asks all the correct questions and creates a ticket, with appropriate SLA.
