That sucks. I'm really lucky, because people here seem to be patient because I've got L plates taped all over me!! I've only been riding for 4 months and barely done 300 miles, so only had 1 embarrassing moment where I almost dropped my bike when I went to peek around a bus and there was a car coming and I panicked and slammed on the brakes.... I had a fumble, but didn't drop it (phew)!

mine is my work e-mail, but when I set up the VLSC login it was classed as a microsoft account. Now when I want to get in I have to click that option and in I get. Perhaps they have given you the wrong password?

When I set a few up a few years back, there was a massive hold up because they couldn't verify the VPP account with a person that worked at the school. I'm clearly out of date

I use Lightspeed MDM. I get it free with my LA but it's normally £5 per device per year. With iPads you can set restrictions on it and push out apps via Volume Purchase Program (VPP) - I highly recommend you sign up to that, it will enable you to buy apps legit.

I get that Cloud-sentry thing popping up for about 7 seconds before it loads the site.

OK, still struggling with this. Logged on as a test user in an OU with folder re-direction pointing to the new server. In event viewer it says that can't redirect folder because the network path was not found. I can then go to run and UNC to the same path just fine. What's going on? Could it be because my share name has a space in it? My last share name had a space in it......

If only having the stopcock on halfway isn't helping, you might need to get a new one fitted. Happened in our old house, so just lowered the pressure on it and it did the trick

I guess you would assign the software to the user in that case, though probably better to assign to the device and then the school can keep it. If the device breaks, you can move the install onto another. Pro-tip when setting up VPP - use a real e-mail address. They don't like it if you do [email protected]!

I would personally do it through Volume Purchase Program, alternatively, you'll have to find a supplier that sells itunes vouchers!

Yeah, I went through all of that yesterday, set it all replicating through DFSR. Scared me!! I'm thinking it might be because I removed the authenticated users in security filtering on my GPOs. Some of them were applying, and they seem to be the ones that had the authenticated users still on there. Changed that then will check it later on.

Just gonna read through this. I have removed authenticated users.... My re-directs have actually worked this morning along with drive maps, so feeling hopeful.

Aight... story time. I have a server - 2008 R2 (Primary DC), it's warranty is coming up and SIMS won't be supported on this. This server also has a 2012 R2 VM on it acting as a DC. Bought a new server. Installed Server 2016. Installed a couple of VMs - One will be the new Primary DC and the other is the SIMS server. Swapped FSMO roles onto new 2016 server. Fine. Been changing over shares slowly, fine. Had SIMS migrated to SIMS server, fine. Installed updates on 2008 R2 last night - my group policies don't seem to be updating. I have a policy to apply shared drives. It doesn't seem to be working. As a test, I moved my own user area onto the new server and applied the correct re-directs for folders. This doesn't work. Event viewer: "The folder redirection policy hasn't been applied. It's been delayed until the next sign-in because the group policy sign-in optimization is in effect." For the life of me, I can't find where the sign in optimization option is. Any clues? Could the Server 2008 R2 update last night have broken something? I reckon to have checked all of the obvious like security settings and what policies are applied in which OU etc. My brain is about to explode. I will eagerly await responses!!

I've found the best thing to do is call the number and wait the 15 - 20 mins to get an answer, because the tech guys tend to sort it out there and then. My guess is that they are so busy on the phones that they don't have time to look at web tickets...
