Thanks to Noelmm and MYK-IT. Don't have access to MS-OVS-ES, but I can download the ISO's from microsoft's website. The biggest problem with this though is it's looking for an install key - and I don't have that because the original drive was dead (not being recognised in BIOS, replacement m.2 device is now seen in BIOS). I know that you can use keys that allow install only, but I'd prefer to use the official dell media for this one, because the user is "particular" about that sort of thing. Regards ST

Hi, We have a teacher using a NEW standalone school MacBook pro, but am having difficulty in obtaining a licence/download of Final Cut Pro for the machine. A standalone account has been setup in ITunes using the no credit card/payments option. Hi there, I was wondering if there's anyone that can help me access the dell recovery image for Windows 8.1 PRO please. It's for a Dell Venue 11 pro model 7130/T07G. It had an SSD failure, and of course, no backup USB was created. It's owner does not want win 10, as there were issues with it, (auto installed for a start), and they're convinced that W10 caused this failure.... . Any advice/assistance greatly appreciated. Hi folks, Hoping someone's encountered this issue. I have an Acer Aspire 5738 laptop which is not seeing the DVD drive. I did a search on the site to see if there were any hits, but no luck. Googling "acer not seeing dvd drive" returns lots of hits, but no fixes. Have swapped out drive for known good one - this results in the drive being seen sometimes in both BIOS and OS. Original drive works fine in other brand laptop (toshiba) after I removed the custom front panel. OS is w7 x86 sp1 - clean install (using said "faulty" drive) Any suggestions please? TIA

Had this issue with this laptop. Running w7 pro, I had to install the chipset driver, intel graphics driver and finally nvidia grphics driver. All drivers were downloaded from the intel and nvidia sites - not from lenovo or windows update. Hope that helps.

Is there any way of manually copying the audit profile to a specified (standard, non admin) user profile? I ask because as usual there isn't enough free time to go through the procedures mentioned above *and* get a half dozen machines prepped for the weekend. Oh for a win7 version of newsid.... .

Hi, If the device is class 1, as most desktops are, then current recommendation is that it should be tested annualy. However this might change with the release of the V4 IEE code of practice. Are you able to order books for staff through your school library? I've just ordered the V4 book that way for my school.

So onsite - there is a voltage selector, it is set to 240 volt. The fuse was hidden in the IEC socket and was open circuit. Replaced fuse and the motor assembly moved the board up, and when I lowered the unit it was very noisy in doing so and then stuck in the lower position. Fuse is intact now. Am trying to arrage uplift for this unit now, thanks for the help. Kind Regards, Scotstech

Thanks for that, however this unit does not have a voltage selector switch or an on/off switch - it's changed from the install instructions supplied with the unit. I'm checking this on tuesday, but it seems that to get into the motor area, it's a total stripdown of the unit, which i'm not keen on as it should still be under warranty hopefully. Hi Folks, Been asked to check out a smart board install which has been "abandoned" by it's suppliers. Never seen one of these before, (looks gigantic when it's built up), and apart from configuring the projector for size etc, the main issue seems to be with the HAWM-UX/UF module which moves the board up and down. Seems to be dead - there is no on/off switch or voltage selector as referenced in the manual. I have checked that there is mains being supplied by the IEC lead, but never having seen this type of unit before, I'm kinda stumped. For anyone used to these units, is there a locking key for the module? I would have thought that I'd hear some kind of motor noise though if there was any lock in place. Grateful for any thoughts, Scotstech
