I'm absolutely no expert.... If the distance is too great, the signal won't carry. The MBP with the thunderbolt possibly sends out a slightly stronger signal? What distance are we talking?

I know of people who have just started to do their hours and no more as their SLT don't listen or care anymore about their concerns on lack of staffing. They have said that they're not working themselves into the ground for people who couldn't care less.

I need a script to uninstall the sound drivers and then reinstall them. So after a bit of research I can see that I need to use the DevCon commands.... I need a bit of help.... I found a line that could help me, but then would need to rescan for PnP devices... wmic sysdriver where name ="High Definition Audio Device" delete Just need a shortcut for staff to click to sort out their HDMI audio and then I'm not up and down CONSTANTLY.

Gonna try and hammer mine this week. Came in the car today because I needed shopping, but will be taking long routes to and from work the next few days to try and get that battery charged! I struggled with this last week. I created a group, but then couldn't add a device into it. It's hard to find how to move devices into certain groups too.

Had a circulate problem yesterday, also have a problem with MLS connect where it deletes users that go into the intake folder.... also can't view the helpdesk ticket - it tells me a problem has occured!! Yeah it is for sure the DNS. It is still a domain controller, so has DNS and ADDS. I'm assuming I can switch all this off, but it's file server role will remain in tact?

I have TPM and after encrypting it asked for the long key every time it booted. Just decrypting now. Gonna try again.... policies I have in place are: Store BitLocker recover info in ADDS Choose drive encryption method and cypher strength Then in OS Drives: Allow Secure Boot for integrity validation Configure use of hardware-based encryption for OS drives Choose how bitlocker OS drives can be recovered configure TPM platform validation profile for BIOS based firmware configs.

Laptops I am looking at encrypting are TPM 2. I've got a spare one here that I'm gonna experiment with. Just got a test OU and applying the group policies. It does have an SSD.... Kingston jobby... I'll check for OPEL!

DHCP is dishing out new server IP as DNS. I've gone through most statics.... I'll triple check them all though!

OK so I've got a 2008 R2 server that I want to retire. It was the primary domain controller and I have set up a new server which has all of the roles installed and I have transferred FSMO roles to. HOWEVER - if the old server is off.... things sloooooooow right down. I mean, it was switched off during the holidays by the UPS and it messed things up for some people. I haven't demoted it yet, so it is probably still acting as a DNS server. I could use a checklist of things I need to check before I demote it. Things I need to check before I switch it off. I should be transferring the last of the staff home drives in a couple of weeks. Any help much appreciated!
