  1. Any way to collate these tweets? Perhaps a special EG hashtag for BETT 2015?
  2. Could you not use iMessage on the iOS devices you have? Just turn it off afterwards?
  3. I.e What freebies you have?
  4. My favourite thread of the year! Other than anything by @VeryPC of course as it usually ends up with free sweets.
  5. What exactly are you trying to do? I don't get the requirement. You want something that sends SMS to each other?
  6. You mean @EduTech?
  7. Doing it on other pages too, including this one.
  8. The Today's Posts page keeps wanting me to download afr.php from cas.nl.eu.criteo.com.
  9. Using your service, as an example, can schools continue to use onsite Lightspeed appliances if they have invested in their own equipment already?
  10. I don't think it's really advanced enough in comparison to other products. It's a feature of Impero, but I don't think it's the best for the job. If you have budget for the likes of PaperCut then I'd say they're the leader on this. If you want a simple print credit system, then the likes of Impero would be fine.
  11. Now owned by Capita, for anyone who is interested. Capita acquires Complete Imaging Limited | Capita plc
  12. Saw this in the BETT mag. Looks quite interesting. ParentHub – Make your school the hub of the community | Make your school the hub of the community I know it does a lot of what other systems already do, but... it just read to be quite appealing.

    Sso & adfs

I don't think SSO will solve that.

    Sso & adfs

What are you trying to setup SSO for?
  15. Google are the ones to blame! RM did send a mailing out and there is a dedicated website and support number.
  16. OK so when you are ready to test, be sure that the ISP are still on hand to reverse any changes they make, if it fails. Else you'll be without internet.
  17. That is explained here. http://www.rm.com/_RMVirtual/Media/Downloads/SSL_Interception_Policy.pdf You would need to look at the SSL cert to be sure they're not intercepting.
  18. Are you able to get out to the internet without SafetyNet, or does all traffic have to pass through the SafetyNet? If so, you will probably find that your headteacher needs to sign a disclaimer for the ISP.
  19. Set it up with the management connected so you can do all the policy stuff. I wouldn't go live with it during school hours, do the actual connecting up out of hours so you can test it beforehand and make sure all the policies apply correctly for your user types. To do that you will need to connect it to the router, between the internal network, hence the suggestion to do it out of hours. You can always fallback to the SafetyNet if it doesn't behave as expected.
  20. Can schools start to use the new proxy addresses (sslfilter.blah) even if they haven't been moved over? @snagrat I'd expect the old proxy.blah addresses to work regardless, with the proviso that they don't filter Google. The way it's worded on the RM site suggests this but it's not recommended.
  21. Connectivity / VOIP are a focus, other than that, probably touchscreens and the like.
  22. By intercepting all sites I'd imagine in some cases there could be a performance hit because the appliance (if onsite) is doing work it doesn't need to.
  23. You will need to disable the RM SafetyNet before the Lightspeed will work. Lightspeed will not work with an upstream proxy, it requires a straight out connection to the internet. You need to set up Lightspeed then arrange for your ISP to remove the RM SafetyNet if they enforce traffic through this, else, you can just update your clients to the Lightspeed. The clients don't necessarily need a Proxy setting to use the Lightspeed. It can work transparently. However, I would go down the Proxy route as then you can filter Google etc. You will need to setup SSL certificates to perform MITM.
  24. We will be looking to 'intercept' search engines only. Is there a need to intercept all other traffic? I don't think there is unless I am missing something?
