To a parent, no incentive, unless you charge them the transaction fees in which case this is cheaper for them. It seems. Both methods appear just as secure as each other. The Instant Transfer is covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee as well. Conveniently as pointed out they only have to enter details once. Whether parents consider that a risk or a benefit is down to how they look at online payments and security in general. There will always be parents who are dubious about paying for things online in any way. I don't see this extra option solving that, or adding any obstacles either.

Sounds interesting. Does your software support 'trip management' in that schools can manage pupils on trips, produce reports etc?

If it's being graded is a service like that reliable enough to provide the person 'assessing' it a good experience? And can you use custom domains with those services? -

If it was me, I'd go for something that is already managed, especially as it's just a portfolio website which you've said is only about 90 Meg. Time is better spent on Uni work than patching a server, in this case? The OVH VPS and So You Start providers do look useful though so thanks for sharing those! -
It does seem as though the PARS Connect is getting more attention but I'm sure TASC have said they're not going to end the desktop version. I'm not sure about that myself.. @jenny_urey can perhaps shed some light?

All of our kids have cards. We started out with printed nice ones but now we just ones which equate to about 20p, they're just plain white. If they're lost, the pupils are charged for replacement. They double up as catering cards too.

I'd recommend Tsohost. Their basic package is £15 for the year. A .co.uk domain name is £3.35 but if I recall the minimum registration is 2 years for .co.uk domains so £7. Thus £22 in total for a reliable service. https://www.tsohost.com/web-hosting -

Needs to be web accessible I believe. So a webserver. -
Might be easier as it doesn't look like they've made it to the UK yet. :-(

Can you not get them on Amazon US?

Does anyone know the new address for the Neos Training centre?

They're called Oomph. http://www.madebyoomph.co.uk

Stone and Very-PC would both be my recommendations if you're looking for something more custom.

Did you look into an MSI?

We use Kyocera throughout the site for our printers and haven't had any problems. What model did you have?

With all the horror stories you hear about imitation iPhone chargers, I'd be extremely cautious over the batteries too.

Oh lovely.

Where are the batteries from though? Are they likely to explode?

Thanks Russ. I'm not sure if the new support system is fully live or not yet, but, as an end user when I log a ticket I can't actually view the ticket details once I hit submit. All I can see is the ticket title but not the details.

That's the one, yes. Password came by email in text.

OK so I'm in. Looks as though the passwords are stored in plain text in the database though. Would this be true?
