School Twitter - Do's and Don'ts?
hardtailstar replied to foofighterjim's topic in How do you do....it?
I would avoid having it locked down and also not to collect twitter accounts from parents/carers etc. Its just like putting information onto the school's website. It needs to represent your school and the values. -

Reminds me of the time a few years ago when EIS (Kent Schools IT Support) were advertising Safer Internet day on the day via emails and twitter etc but their internet filtering for schools wasn't working so we could access anything!

Flash videos through IE

It has been an issue in IE and Chrome for us. I know Chrome has its own flash but its the Flash videos on websites we are having issues with. Flash videos downloaded work. -
Flash videos through IE
hardtailstar replied to ITJS2015's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
We have this issue too, not resolved it either yet. It seems that its random on websites. One website would play sound through speakers on a video but on the next page it would only play through laptop speakers -
Last year I used these questions but they are very specific for our school I know how to report IT issues to IT Services? I know how to request equipment for Assemblies or events? I know how to connect to Live Viewer and VGA to the projector? I know how to access my emails via the School website? I have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office products?

We looked into it but decided against it as for the price it we would only use a select few bits. Im sure admins cant use the app, but they could have changed that

Are they all using the same laptops? We had issues before strangely enough it was our PE department in the changing rooms too, they all had similar laptops and the wifi on the laptops were a bit rubbish. We added another AP above changing room doors and this seems to of solved the issues

Using IE and getting BBC to play sound on default playback device
hardtailstar replied to Jobos's topic in Windows 10
Cant help with a fix but we had the issue with this website too. All other sites would play sound ok but this website would only play on the laptop speakers. We tried a lot and the teacher eventually found the videos he needed from the site on Youtube. His laptop was a Dell!
