A steel plate would be overkill, if it's at the top and it's also the corner of the wall then there must be some timber there. If you do want to attach something to spread the load a simple piece of plywood or even mdf will do the job nicely. As for the comment about pressure gates with bars along the bottom I can see the logic and the one that was posted the whole thing pivots on the hinges that are screwed to the wall. That being said we used a pressure gate at the top of our stairs with all 3 of our girls and yet no-one had an accident, must be that thing called common sense I guess. Ben

Medication treatment for gout is usually just nsaid's such a naproxen, colchine which is a poisonous plant extract or a daily tablet such a alluopurinol to control the uric acid levels. I've been on alluopurinol for a few months and had my dose upped last july and haven't had an attack since then. It was increased because at the time I basically had an attack which was low level in all my joints so moving at all was agony and also had a bad ankle with it as well, my consultant sorted the ankle with a cortisone injection straight in to the ankle joint. You can setup machine authentication in group policy with user re-authentication if you want and that way the machine connects with it's computer account so those gpo's will apply. Ben

Just stripped faulty laptop to remove lcd cable. Stripped down good laptop to remove lcd cable, motherboard end of cable differen, doh!!!! Put good laptop back together, ran out of screws, lol, someone has had it apart before judging by all the marks on the casing where they levered the hell out of it due to not knowing what they were doing with it. Do I spend £10 on a new lcd cable or not? Ben

hmm ok so original screen from dodgy laptop works with the same screen fault in working laptop but now fails to do anything in original dodgy laptop yet new screen still works in dodgy laptop albeit with no backlight. Gah thought this would be a simple swap the screen ta very much. Ben

Ok to summarise: Tested faulty laptops screen in good laptop, show screen fault which was missing lines at top of display, backlight works. Tested new screen in good laptop, screen works fine, backlight works. Tested new screen in faulty laptop, screen works fine, no backlight. Screen cable is firmly connected both ends as I've had the faulty one down to the motherbaord to check. Possible causes, faulty screen cable or more serious motherboard fault. Ben
