  3. That's why with some of the services like tinurl you can get a preview, I always recommend a short url expander rather than just blindly clicking on them but they are handy to share long url's and goo.gl gave me analytics on them as well. Shame on you Google Ben

  8. Most card systems are just using the uuid of the card to look up the user and their access rights as will other systems i.e printers and catering systems. Some systems such as Salto also store user door access on the cards as well so the card tells the door it can open for it rather than a look up. Ben

  21. It's quite simple to use another device over the last year I've used a Sophos utm and just the Ethernet on my laptop to create a ppoe connection to the supplied bt vdsl modem. Ben
  22. I am also on plus.net with the same setup and it works just about although for good coverage upstairs I do need another access point. You could replace their wifi device with another one as long as it gives you a wan port that support pope to bring up the connection. Ben
  23. Even with 5mm or so left it's likely they weren't making enough contact to make it work. Recently replaced the brushes on ours the drum would turn but not spin. Ben
  24. If you wish to go cat6 and have it all properly tested then unless you use cat6 patch panel it's unlikely to pass. Ben
