I actually happened to have another packard bell here which uses the exact same screen, so far I've disconnected the original screen from that and hooked up the original screen from the one I'm repairing and that comes on showing the screen fault which is why I changed it in the first place, next will be to test the screen I bought on the laptop that definately works. Cable looks absolutely fine, taken top plastics off and motherboard also looks fine. Ben

What OS do you deploy to them? Ben

This is an led screen so don't think it has an inverter like you used to have with a ccfl backlight through there's nothing in the chassis the display cable plugs into the motherboard and then into the control board on the back of the screen. Ben

Got my brother in law's laptop here as he was complaining that the screen kept going dark. It's a Packard Bell New90, eurgh I know When I first turned it on the backlight was functioning but some lines at the top of the display were not showing correctly. I replaced the lcd panel yesterday and the full screen is working perfectly but there is no backlight whatsoever I'm a bit peeved to say the least anyone seen this before? I'm thinking lcd display cable but don't want to blindly change more parts. Ben

@pete nope we bought direct from RepRapPro and bought the mono mendel which is the generation before their current one they are currently selling these through emakershop. They also have a new printer the Ormerod that can be bought from RS Components. Nextdayreprap showed out of stock when we tried to buy and their phone number is disconnected so I would avoid them. As per the article you linked to this is a new feature available with 2012 so unless you've only just left college you're remembering something else entirely and even then the policies that the article talks about are setup in the DHCP mmc and are nothing to do with Active Directory policies. Ben

Take the echo out and just use the del statement and you'remissing a \ after c: for your log file. Ben

Don't know if it would be sufficient for your needs but you can use the built in controller utility to initialise the disks. Ben
