Hi Richard, Thanks for your post! Do you mean have I logged in as an Admin on the laptop to install the printers? If so, yes. We did that for every single laptop after we deployed the image onto them (We deployed the image we created, then did a manual process of each laptop of installing printers, adding Sophos, adding it to the domain etc.) - if you mean the computer we're using as a print server, it's always logged in as Administrator (it's literally just a Windows 7 desktop client on our domain that has the printers installed, which we then share on the network - this was our workaround since Windows Server 2003 didn't recognise the win7 drivers for our printer - as I mentioned, it's an old printer) As for Group Policy, my NM doesn't use GPP's at his own preference. Whether it's because he doesn't like using them or there's a more technical reason for it I don't know, but obviously since it's 'his' network I can't really go against his preferences and add Group Policies into the field.

Hi all, Title might be a bit misleading but I'll try and explain this as best as I can! I'm still new to getting involved with networks (College course had a 2-month unit on networks, which involved our lecturer talking about wavelengths and planets. Good times.) so I may be a bit rubbish at making sense of this! We've just setup our new laptop trolley with Windows 7, however we're still on an XP/2003 network. Due to the printer being a fairly old one now (HP CP2025) we couldn't seem to get the Windows 7 drivers to load on our server. We took one of the PC's from our Suite and set that up with Windows 7 on the domain as a print server for the laptops. They installed fine when we setup the image on each laptop and finished setting them up. However, our Students can't connect to the printers. They can connect to the PC (Run -> \\PCNAME) just fine but when we attempt to add them we get a "0x000005" error - when I try running a PrintUI script, it asks for credentials - I type them in correctly, and I get a "0x0000052e" error. It's one printer, but two 'devices' - MonoLaserJet & ColourLaserJet. We're a small Primary School, hence the need for only one printer! I've tried looking up this error and the ones that have been given solutions haven't worked for us yet. I'm asking here since my NM is a contractor for various schools, so he's only here Monday & Thursday mornings. We've not got long until we break for Summer Holidays and upgrade to Server 2008 R2 anyway, but it'd be nice to still get this fixed since the laptops are used very frequently. My NM doesn't believe it's a permissions issue since he's looked at all the places he reckons it'd be at. I've had a look as well but as said I'm on the learning ladder for working with networks so I may have missed a lot of places to look at! I'm sorry for this being such a big post, as said I'm still getting to grips with getting experience with networks - this is my first ever full-time job, came straight out of college into it so I'm still learning if I've missed out any information you need to help with suggestions, let me know and I can try and get it for you! Not sure whether to post this here or in Educational IT Jobs but here goes I'm currently applying for another school, but it's also asking for a CV and Cover Letter to support the application - I've never had to do a Cover Letter before, so I've got no idea what to write. The problem also is, I've already written a lot in the 'Relevant Experience' part of the form that I've probably already said everything I would in a Cover Letter, thus repeat myself. Any suggestions? Or should I just leave it as a AppForm+CV?

Pff, Level 25!? How many caves and towers did you clear out! At least you managed to explore the map though rather than just blind-follow the main quest! I only went to HH because I wanted the Unrelenting Force shout, I could barely make a pot shiver with just 'Fus' Lol'd about the Goats thing, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who chases the foxes/rabbits/goats when they try to make a break for it! It's like in the GTA games, I seem to have this habit of smashing up Taxi's.. I realy don't know why.

Haha, oh god - don't let me reach that age then if that's how it feels! I've really enjoyed working I've learnt more from being here in 4 months than I did on that 2-year course, it's ridiculous really! But I do love it, I'm already having those "I hope one day I'll be able to just do something from the bottom up" but that's probably a bit to ambitious for me just yet, haha. How did you get on there? I assume School #3 is offering something better?

My journey towards High Hrothgar + up the 7,000 steps included: 2x Ice Wolves 2x Wolves 1x Ice Wraith 1x Frost Troll (was a right barsteward to kill) 2x Dark Brotherhood Assassins 4x Bandits (Hired Thugs because I killed that old Anise woman, the secret witch!) All at Level 6. I'm pretty sure I was supposed to only have 3 out of that list of 6! I P-1-55'd off the whole of Tamriel, clearly.

Already started posting around the forums but figured I better make a proper introduction! I'm Tom (can't stand being called Thomas,) I finished school in 2009, went straight on to a college course for two years (finished that last July) and got a job as a local Primary School's IT Technician about 4 months after! Yeah, I'm only 18 so I'm probably amongst the small group of being the youngest in this 'profession' here *nervously smiles at all you veterans!* It's pretty neat, but also quite intimidating. My NM is a great guy though, always supports me and is more than willing to teach me new things! Am I the only one that has problems with Lydia and Faendal when it comes to trying to get them to bloody follow me and not end up 50 miles away? I keep getting raided by Bandits and find myself fending my own back because they're too busy having a tea break.

Was, infact still is, dreadful here in the farmer lands (Gloucestershire) - driving on the Motorway is so much fun in this weather, I felt cool being part of the "LET'S BE HARDCORE AND GO IN A CONVOY at 50mph" - I have a Micra, and even driving at 35mph my car was being physically swerved about from the wind. Gotta love the Jap cars. I feel like giving up on drivers though, I -still- kept getting challenged by the big-headed idiots in their BMW's trying to overtake at the very bitter end of a dual carriageway or use the motorway as a launch-pad to speed across all three-lanes and slot in front of me, about an inch from the junction exit. People have no common sense! "Yeah that's fine, I'll slam on my brakes and st-- oh wait I've slid and crashed into the back of you"
