Been tempted to invest in a HP MicroServer for ages now but no idea which one to get or how to spec it. How good are they at running VMs? And just out of curiosity and being a nosey bugger, what do people generally use their home servers for?

I suspect it's easy for them to do it because they have the mods installed (no damage, no fines, no speed-limiter etc.) as those mods still work in Multiplayer, since it basically just 'overlays' the main game.

It's great, get it! Aside from the odd connection issues (can take a while to get in the server or sometimes it'll drop out) the mod itself is suprisingly very stable just be aware that you will get the idiots who will smash into your truck and cause 61% damage or something stupid at the very last mile of your 5 hour route

Well, despite chaining my wallet into a nuclear bunker on Mars, I caved in and went a bit mad: Assassin's Creed Revelations, Brotherhood + 3 Battlefield 2 (Complete) + Battlefield Bad Company 2 (+ all DLC) Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed (+ all DLC) Train Simulator 2014 (come on, you all want it really and for a fiver I couldn't refuse.. even if it took me an entire hour before I worked out how to move the bloody thing) DiRT 3 Dead Island (+ Riptide) Rollercoaster Tycoon 1, 2, 3 (deluxe editions etc.) Not bad for a total of £40-ish though, even if I know that I probably won't ever play them like the other 90% of my library! Clearly I have way too much time on my hands..

Something to have fun with tonight then, Yippeeee! Although I only really want it so I can have f.lux again, it was nice to be able to use the phone in the dark without turning blind.

That one still makes me rage now, such an annoying level!! Not as bad as the Jungle one though, that has to be my all-time hated level of the game. Ugh.

I found GoldenEye 007 (on the N64) difficult back when it came out right from Level 1... ha ha ha, what a noob I was... still terrible at it now with the aiming... but will forever be a legendary game! If you ever got into the situation where you kept dying and got really cross with it you knew you could cheer yourself up by dislodging the catridge ever so slightly from the corner which resulted in the AI having a complete meltdown. Hilarious, even today! (or maybe I have crap sense of humour.. probably that one. ) EDIT: video showing the 'cartridge tilting' bug as it's known: Even the "Bond Barrel" scene right at the beginning as me in stitches

For the price you paid the fine majority would all be on average 150k+ at least with a few Cat C/D or "non starters," so 86k(?) - for the age of the car - would definitely be classed as very low mileage (I believe the 'general' calculation for average mileage is 12,000 * age of car in years, in which case yours would be 156k) so yeah you've got a good one there. Obvious things to keep an eye on now really would be the usual belts/clutch jobs etc. at some point in the future I guess, but either way a good purchase hope it serves you well! I bought a 2001 Mondeo TDDI a few weeks back for £600, I've already had £1,000 spent on it (the dreaded clutch, DMF + starter replacement and usual bits like brake pad/disc) but I absolutely love it - 114k miles and still drives like new. It's come complete with typical Mondeo Man reputation such as the odd dent in the bodywork and a very poor service history, "that Mondeo smell" interior and rusty doors but giving her some TLC each week at the moment, she'll be looking gorgeous soon enough! Much prefer it to the 2009 Corsa I've come from, weirdly.

Looks lovely! lots you can do to the old Fords as well (add bits from the Ghia spec cars for example, they're cheap as chips these days to purchase and install and there's so many "guides/how-to's" around) - hope you have fun with it!

To be honest I have no idea what a hipster is... there's so many bloody 'groups' these days it's hard to keep track of who does what! Don't get me wrong I like the idea, but I just can't see where this is worth £1,000 of your hard-earned money. Like what @Novalee says, I reckon it's a good 'starter' to something even greater that will come in the future but Google Glass - at least in its current form - isn't it.

Wasn't sure where to post this, sorry! I've been asked (in short notice) to setup two PC's for an exam tomorrow at a sister school, they obviously need to be locked down. I've done all the testing on my site in a test OU with a user account ExamUser and have managed to sort out the application side of things so that account cannot access the obvious like CMD, other browsers, Calculator etc. but as the exam is on a website I need to find a way of enforcing a whitelist on IE, so only X website can be accessed and nothing else. I did consider software but I can't find any that can only be applied to a specific user account instead of affecting the entire machine (the PC's they want to use will still be in use by others [in the ICT Suite, of all places!] so I can't make permanent changes) I've never had to do this before so I am completely stumped and happy to admit the noob in me here, if anybody could give me some pointers on how I could go about this that would be fantastic. Thanks!
