  1. I am currently going through a book learning ASP.Net C# and I am loving it and really enjoying it. However because Microsoft removed WSAT from visual studio 2013, the book is telling me to go into the command prompt and type loads of stuff in order to open WSAT, and this is going to be a pain having to do this all the time. Does anyone know of an alternative to this, or how to incorporate this manage users and roles into the website? I still haven't finished the book so it might tell me later on, just it's a bit of a pain doing it, and would much prefer to try do things myself at this stage now. Thanks
  2. I second the wrox books, I am currently using the beginners guide to asp.net 4.5.1 in C# and VB to learn C# and I have learnt loads from it. Like you I am planning to create a helpdesk/ticket solution for my primary schools, but I am also planning on adding Inventory system and other things into it. So would be interesting to see how yours turn out using PHP
  3. I'll be there Friday, and maybe Saturday if I don't get to see everything I need to. But I'm hoping just Friday
  4. Any idea how much the bikes cost etc? and are they oyster cards as well (Sorry I'm not a city kinda guy)
  5. Nope plain old boring card. I wouldn't trust the contactless payment anyway, just freaks me out a little tbh. But thanks for the advice with topping up the card etc. Can I use the oyster card on the busses as well?
  6. Can someone help me, I am going up Thursday evening and coming back Saturday evening as I'm spending a day out in London, but just wondering how much should I put on an oyster card if I order one? Will £15 do me or is that to little?
  7. Hmm so basically don't play it Do you know if they do a 30 day trial like wow to save me forking over £10 to buy it?
  8. Has anyone played this game? I have looked at it but not taken the plunge at buying it and trying it as I don't want to pay loads for a game that I might not play much. So was just wondering if anyone has played it and can let me know how good it is etc.
  9. I just use it for the helpdesk, I tried to do the inventory for it, and I gave up straight away tbh
  10. Just thought I would let you know as I am currently looking at hotels, Ibis Styles London Leyton is £40 per night for 1 and 2 person double bed and a twin room for 2 people. It is a 8 miles away from Excel London but it is nice and cheap. Also free unlimited Wifi and breakfast Would be grateful if anyone knows of any cheaper/better hotels nearer Sorry should have added, this was through late rooms, when you actually choose the hotel it gives you the cheaper price so even though it looks expensive to begin with it cuts it down when you select it
  11. Not really, if you add all the components up individually you actually save a bit of money by buying it prebuilt, then you get the build for free (I know that takes the fun out off it) plus they run tests to make sure nothing is wrong with the components Plus IT HAS BLUE LIGHTS!!!
  12. If you want to just buy a pre-built machine I suggest this GLADIATOR GTX 760 FX-8350 4.0GHz 8x Core Next Day Gaming PC I brought myself that plus a 120GB SSD and a wireless card. They build it for you and run tests on it for about 16 hours I think it was to make sure everything works fine. It work's fine on all the games I play, and I haven't had any issues with it. The only thing extra I have is another 8GB of Ram coming in the post which I got for christmas.
  13. I've used an old netbook we were going to throw away as a doorstop before, for a rather heavy door, whilst the man came to collect our old equipment. Does that count?
  14. I will PM you Sent you a link to some of the things I use and if you need any more help just let me know
  15. What's the movie playback like on tablet/phone devices like as my mum and dad just use iPad's so I need to make sure they can watch movies okay on it
  16. Just browsing the interweb and I cam across this. It looks quite fun and interesting to do. Thought I would share incase anyone else wants to give it a go as well. Also does anyone use anything else for a Home storage device for the whole family? Thanks
  17. So far, I've had one card, a small Christmas bag full of chocolate bars, a Cadburys section bag thing and 4 bottles of cider, but that was to say thanks for dressing up as a reindeer last week (But I don't like cider). Still 3 days to go
  18. Awesome, sounds good to me
  19. Whilst there is already a lovely thread with loads of BETT goers open, does anyone know of cheap/decent places to stay in London? (Not a Hostel though) Thanks Also if there is some edugeekers party on the Thursday night or Friday night let me know as I will be in London for both those nights :)
  20. I'm sorry!! I have been busy all morning with stupid photocopiers and my phone didn't register a missed call or anything I am available now and I have turned it up full volume so give me a ring
  21. I use the Group Policy Templates for Google Chrome to block the chrome-signin thing Might be worth looking at
  22. Something that might be worth looking at is SolarWinds They have lots of free tools on there which might be useful
  23. I've already got two 22" HD monitors on my list. Also a TV Card for my computer so I can get rid of my TV as I won't have any space with my new monitors. Now just need a gaming keyboard and a decent chair as my Rover one is getting a bit battered and then I'm happy. But don't think I will get the extra two bits as well Other than that I would just want some WOW time and some Steam gift cards.
